Will a Bose SA-3 Amplifier work well with Bose 151 SE Speakers? Based on the information of the Bose 151 SE cut sheets, they are compatible with amplifiers 4-8 ohms and 10-100 watts per channel. The Bose SA-3 produces a 100W per channel minimum into 6 Ohms. While they appear to be compatible based on the specs, I just wat to confirm that I will not blow the speakers. Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes! the specs look good, in fact the amplifier output matches the speakers, plus the ohms ratio is fine.

SOURCE: Bose amplifier does not work with a 6 speaker selector

your wall speakers may not be connected.... disconnect each speaker from the selector box and test with a small AAA battery to see if they are connected by putting the battery between each speaker's wires , you will hear it crackle ,then gradually connect each wall speaker onto the speaker connector box . If the first set does not work i suggest there may be a problem with your speaker selector box . Good luck

My Bose SA3 2 channel amp keeps blowing when I raise the volume with non-bose speakers, why is this happening?

Could be the impedence of the speakers that you're connecting. The bose amp was designed to drive 8 ohm speakers.

Which amplifier that match 2 of JBL CM52 speaker and 2 of Bose 151

If you want to run both the speakers at a time you will have to buy a professional amplifier like CROWN XLS202.
Because together the total impedance will drop below 3 Ohms. An average domestic amplifier is designed to run speakers between 4 to 8 Ohms.
If you are running only one pair at a time you can buy any of the following Amplifiers.
Marantz - PM 7003

We have just installed a Bose lifestyle system, with SA 2 and SA 3 amplifyer, with a second set of speakers in another room. we cannot get sound to the second room. the second remote is not responding....

Make sure you unplug your sa 2 and sa3 amplifiers after setting the codes. Wait at least 60 seconds, then plug back in. I would also unplug the in and out boselink cables as well. Once youve waited for a minute, then plug everything back in. Should work. If not, call Bose technical support. They are really great. I have 15 SA 3 amplifiers throughout my home. They are great.

Bose SA-3 amp and a non bose sub.. I keep blowing the amp..

How many ohms is your sub? The SA 3 Amp can only handle speaker(s) 6 ohms and greater. A lot of subs, as I understand, are 2 and 4 ohms typically. If yours is 2 or 4 ohms, then that explains it. The speaker would be "straining" your amplifier and blowing it.

Bose speaker 151

Hi

I checked in the specs of the manual here. page 6. They quote it as being suitable for 4-8 ohm AMPLIFIERS. but do not mention the actual impedance. I would expect from that that the speakers must be close to 8 ohms, as you they would not advise you to connect a 4 ohm speaker to an 8 ohm output stage, as likely damage could result. If you had a multi meter, you could do a DC resistance check of the speaker, this is generally very close to the impedance. happy to talk to you more about it.
