My 32 inch LG flat screen tv quit working. It shows a blue screen only and has no sound. You can turn it on, but it is very difficult to get it to turn off. You have to keep holding the power button until it finally shuts off. It was only little over a year when it it stopped working.
You have a bad main board, common issue with LG not wanting to turn off again, its a small voltage regulator that goes bad, part number is 1183 or 1117, marked on the regulator, but it may be easier to replace the board

I Have the same problem, LG 32" , LC2D a couple of work arounds that work are
1) - never unplug the mains plug
2) - i noticed it does this when the clock time is --:-- , i find that switching to digital tv can stop this,
however these are only tempory fixes and the problem re surfices, as i have found out after having no problem for 12 months, i have accidently unplugged the mains, and now the tc keep turning itself off,

The Lg lcd was srtruck by a remote and now looks like a small crak on the inside towards the bottom right hand corner and there is no picture but audio does work
