Hotpoint aquarius wm62 - cycle stopped

My Hotpoint Washing machine stopped in middle of cycle. I noticed on an answer for someone else that you mentioned a sensor switch undernesth the door. How can i check this? If it isn't the switch, what else can I check?

Theres two type of switches , the magnetic and the standard switch with the little hook , you need a multi meter tester , set meter to OHM and check the two leads that connects to the switch, while the tester is connected close and open switch , if meter reads 0 then switch is bad.
try to clean switch with a TUNER CLEANER by RADIO SHACK and try again . hope this helps AJ

Hello,remove all the surround screws from around the door glass then gently lever the 2 halves apart,remove the old hinge,and re mount the new one along with the plastic bearings refit the screws,refit the door to the front cabinet.

Door won't open
Usual reason for this is not emptied correctly. The filter on this model is in an awkward place so try lowering drain hose into a bowl to check if water still in.

Sounds like a faulty door interlock (quite a common problem)
UNPLUG POWER first, remove lid, remove screws holding door lock in place and lift lock assembly up, replace door lock, ensuring cables are replaced in the correct order. Refit and test.
