Can't find pictures in internal memory

Message: "Internal memory is full. May contain Favorites, image and non-image files." I'm getting the above message on our camera and cannot access the pictures we took on the internal memory. There was no memory card used so we know for sure that they're in the camera. There's nothing in favorites and nothing can be reviewed. We've been able to use the review feature in the past. Any ideas on how to remedy this?

Thanks. The computer shows it as "Full" as well but only display a few small database files.

If you can connect the camera to your PC via a cable, normally USB, to browse the contents of the camera's internal memory then try simply to do a search on the camera's 'drive' for .png, .jpeg or .jpg, .bmp or any other filetype that your camera would use.
Your PC should be able to find any files using those file types and display them. From there you can copy or cut and paste them to a location on your PC's hard drive.
You may have to make sure that your computer has Show Hidden Files and Folders turned on under Folder Options.
Normally, a camera saves all videos and pictures in a folder called DCIM, even on internal storage.

I don't think you can format the internal memory, but that is also an option if it shows up under your camera's format function. If you're sure there are pictures or videos on the camera then I wouldn't suggest doing it unless you don't care if they are deleted.
Also, I didn't recommend searching for video file types, but you could do that. Another option is to turn off Hide Protected Operating System Files in Folder Options just in case that option of Windows is hiding anything.

SOURCE: New camera won't work!

That message is probably because you have not saved any images in the camera's internal memory. Whatever pictures you took are on the SD card. Try taking a couple of pics using the SD card and try the review. If you are able to review, then all is well. If you cannot review, then one of 2 things:
1. Faulty SD card..Replace or format it.
2. Remove the SD card and take a pic. The pic will be saved in the camera's internal memory. If you still cant preview, probably a fault with the camera, and you'll need to service it.

SOURCE: Internal Memory full; No memory card in; Will not take pictures;

You need to get a memory card and promise to never use the internal memory again....it only causes problems as you have found out. When you get the new card follow this procedure: 1. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to format the internal memory. 2. Insert the new card and do the format thing again to prepare the new card. Happy photography!

Your card is probably good. Go into the camera's setup menu and find the picture storage or memory section. Select external memory as default and you should be good to go.

It keeps saying memory card is full. Bought a new memory card and put in and it still says the card is full.

Are you sure that isn't "internal" memory card is full message?

Sometimes, when "internal memory card is full" there is no more space in the camera's internal memory. Your camera has 16 MB of internal memory. The number of pictures you can store depends on the picture size setting you have selected on your camera. Keep in mind that the camera always uses internal memory, even if a card is installed (auto default).

If really, the problem is in the "SD memory card", I suggest make some backup all files and reformat the SD. Try formatting it in the camera, there should be a process in your owners manual for doing this; donw formatted SD in your computer, isn't good.

Hope helps.

I keep getting an, "internal

Usually, an 'internal memory full' message means that you do not have an external memory where the camera can store its pictures and that it is currently using the internal memory of the camera that can store around 5-10 pictures only. So, the best option is to buy an external memory fcard for your camera. Bring your camera when you will be buying one so that the store clerk can provide you the right memory card.

Select Backup from the Setup menu to copy pictures from the internal memory to a memory card. This is a copy, not a move, leaving internal memory untouched. It also does not affect any favorites.

You can add memory to your camera by purchasing an xd memory card.
Compatible cards
xD-Picture Card (16MB – 1GB)
There are two ways to record the pictures you take with this camera.
Recording pictures to the internal memory
• Pictures are recorded to the internal memory, and when the number of storable still
pictures reaches 0, you must connect the camera to a computer to download the
pictures, and then erase the pictures from the internal memory.
Using an xD-Picture Card (optional)
• Pictures are recorded to the card when inserted in the camera. When the card is
full, you download the pictures to a computer, and then either erase the pictures
from the card or use a new card.
• Pictures are not recorded to the internal memory when a card is inserted in the
camera. Pictures in the internal memory can be copied to the card using the
[BACKUP] function.
