I need a new worm gear for my fisher price starlight papasan cradle swing.

It does not appear that mattel sells these as replacement parts. Can anyone help?

I found a set of worm gears that has 2 of the gears you need.
Google search, worm gear svm-103. It is a packet with a lot of worm gears but the 2 big ones work perfectly.

I called the FP loction in Pennsylvania recently and had the option to be the entire motor for $80. They didn't have one listed for my "exact" model but it's the same as several that they still carry. I don't think you can buy just the worm gear from them but I see parts for these all the time on eBay. You might luck out and find what you need there or in a parts replacement forum for small motors if you know exactly what you need.

Make sure the legs are pulled out all of the way by pulling the legs outward. Make sure the buttons snap into the notches in the motorized frame. Also check to be sure the legs are locked into position by pushing the legs inward. The legs should not move. Also if you can adjust the swing from side to side make sure it is locked in place. That should fix it.

SOURCE: Hi, I have a fisher

You can purchase replacement motors from Mattel (Fisher Price's parent company).

It will be one of the following 3 products, just pick the one that matches what you have now:

SOURCE: fisher price aquarium cradle swing won't swing

It's been a while since I have dealt with these. There is usually an off switch located along the swing bar check to make sure it is in the on position and that the switch itself hasn't been disconnected. Double check to be sure the swing is level and the safety isn't stopping it from working.

Swing stopped working

Had the exact same issue, so I called FP. I had already taken the motor housing off to see if it was something obvious, like a loose connection or broken part. I didn't see anything wrong so I just cleaned it up and put it back together. When I called they offered to sell me a new motor for around $80. Then the lady I was speaking to (who was typing as we talked) said "hey, wait, there's a note in here about this issue..." She said to do what I had done, lightly clean it out with something like a keyboard cleaner, then using the plug (not batteries) set the speed to two/center. It somehow resets it.
That worked for me, and it was free. If that doesn't work then yes, you can get a motor directly from FP. Call the customer service number listed on the back of your manual, if you have it, or 800-432-5437. You'll need to have it nearby so you can give them the model number and year that is listed on the back of the motor housing (open the battery compartment if it isn't on the outside).
You can also get motors online, especially ebay, from any of the papasan swings FP makes. I love this swing so much that I think it's worth it. I've used it for four years now and plan to use it in the future.

Hi there, how do i adjust the chair on the fisher price starlight papasan swing? It is laying pretty low and i want to adjust it for the baby to sit more upright

If you haven't already figured this out, there are two pressure things on the underside of the swing. Just sit to the side or back of it to see them, push them both in, and tip it into the position you want. The upright position isn't upright like a chair, it's still a little reclined, so if you need a boost just slip a rolled up blanket in where you need it.
