Image outside of bounds of television.

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65311 projection TV. I've noticed that many sources seem to extend well outside the boundaries of the screen- basically, all sides, top, bottom are chopped off, and the rest is blown up to fill the screen. This is true across several sources that I can tell (antenna, VCR, DVD, component, composite, etc). Getting tired of the tops of everyone's heads being chopped off! Anything I can do?

    Correction: It's a WS-65411

Sorry, I should have specified: this is irrespective of the format. Good thought, but I have tried changing formats- this happens in 16x9, full, stretched, etc. The last inch or two of the image is just not there. It acts as if it's just zooming in ~110% all the time- enough to chop off portions of score bars on sports, things like that. I've tested this with sources that have their own zoom functions (DVD player that allows zoom and panning), and I can see edges that way that are not visible under normal conditions.

There should be a format button on the remote you can hit. This should cycle thru all the "formats" that the set can do. 16x9, 4x3, wide mode, Full mode, stretched mode, etc.. Let me know if that helps you.. Happy holidays... Jay

Was this a new set out of the box? It sound like to me that it could be setup wrong either from the factory or someone has been tweeking around in there. One other possibility is that the High Voltage could be low. Usually around 30,000 to 35,000vdc. Does the picture ever jump or zoom in and out momentarily? If it does, I have seen on a rare occasion carbon build up on one of the main H.V. Leads coming out of the H.V. Block. Usually this is a big Black box that all the red wires run into and all it really does is distribute the High Voltage to all the 3 CRT's equally. You can usually push in and twist and then look inside with a flash light and see if everything looks good and shiny. If it does then i am wrong again, But we will keep on tryin... Good Luck and keep me posted... Talk to you later... Jay
