Where is the wps button

To create a WPS connection: Step 1 Press and hold the WPS button for three seconds. The blue WPS status LED above the button will blink. Step 2 Press the WPS button on your router within 60 seconds. The WPS button is usually on the front or side of your router. On some routers, you may need to log in to the web interface and click on an on-screen button to activate the WPS feature. If you are not sure where the WPS button is on your router, please refer to your router’s User Manual. The DCS-932L will automatically create a secure wireless connection to your router. While connecting, the green LED will flash and your camera will reboot.

SOURCE: there is a green light

Hello,

WPS means Wi-fi Protected Setup its a kind of wireless security for the router. There are two methods of activating it either by push button(Which you tried) and other is manual for that you can log into the Router setup page using "Http://192.168.2.1" in the Internet explorer and enter the pin code printed under the router. You should click on "Wi-fi protected setup" towards the left side of the page and leave the password field blank and click submit and enter the code and click on "Start" or Apply changes. The reason why it didnt work through the button is probably because your laptop might not be in range or switched off. It has a utility installed on your laptop which recognizes the connection and let it protect using WPS.

Hope it helps. Please feel free to contact us for further assistance or information.

SOURCE: I have a CISCO Basic Wireless Router. Can this

The router is capable of at least Wireless B (11MB) and possibly Wireless G (54MB) or Wireless N standard speeds. The HP Photosmart will do at least Wireless B speeds (and depending on which model - even possibly the faster "G" or "N" standards, too), so yes; it can be connected wirelessly.

You'll have to set up the the HP Photosmart printer the same way you set up other wireless devices to connect to the router. You'll need to input the SSID, Security Encryption Type (WEP or WPA) and associated security "Key" to match those settings that are in the router.

If you can't remember those settings, or never set up the wireless options, you'll have to access the Cisco Router's built in web set up page. Since you didn't include your particular model number, you'll have to look up this info at Cisco's web site yourself.

If you have trouble, include the model of your router and I'll see what additional info I can get for you.

Please rate this reply - thanks!

I am trying to connect my canon pixma 452 printer to my samsung tablet. Where is the WPS button ?

WPS Connection Method Before we start, there are some conditions that must be met in order to use the WPS push button method:
  • The access point must have a physical WPS push button available. Please check with your device's user guide for details. If the WPS push button is not available please use the instructions on the Standard Connection Method tab.
  • Your network must be using the WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) or WPA2 security protocol. Most WPS enabled access points use this protocol.
Step 1 1. Press the [Setup] button (A) on the printer.
Step 2
1. Select [Wireless LAN setup] and press the [OK] button.
The blue Wi-Fi lamp (A), will light up when the wireless connection is enabled.
The printer will now automatically search for access points supporting the WPS feature
Step 3
The display on printer should be as shown below:
(The message will read: "Press WPS button about 5 sec. and press [OK] on the device)"
1. Press and hold the [WPS] button on the access point.
For exact instructions on starting WPS on your access point, please refer to its user guide.
2. Press the [OK] button on the printer within 2 minutes.
The blue Wi-Fi lamp on the printer flashes while searching for or connecting to the access point.
Once connected, the following screen will appear. Press the [OK] button.
If another screen appears, please refer to "troubleshooting" in the user guide.
This concludes the WPS setup procedure.
Please now proceed by installing the software to make the most out of your PIXMA MX474.
  1. If you do not have the installation CD that came with your product, please download the manuals and software.

Does my WRT160N have a WPS button and if so, where is it?

The Linksys WRT160N has WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup). If you are using WPA-PSK encryption (recommended), then you can easily connect the C4780 to your wireless network using WPS:

1) On the Linksys router, press the WPS button that is top of the case just under the Cisco label. When the LED on the button starts to blink, then the WPS process has started.
