Hello: Train won't move

Bought a Holiday Express train set after Xmas. Openned it the first time for my kids a school past Friday. Attached the power thing to the track and have everything plugged in. Controller allows all sounds, etc but, train won't move. Not sure where to turn or what to do. Does that power strip attach to hose hole in the track rails, or just has to touch? Like to get this fixed now so kids can enjoy it.

Thanks...MT

I looked on the bottom of my G-Scale including the engine and tender cars. I don't see a switch anywhere. Am I blind or what? MT

New Bright Toys Train Set Is not working. All pieces are complete. Train powers on, light is working and the whistle works, and the internal motor spins, but the wheels are not working.
Opened the train and all gears are working after further testing. I tested the train without putting it on the tracks, turned upside up. The gear that transmits power to the wheel spins, but the wheels are not working. Tried to clean the wheels and add oil even that the pieces are made of plastic but I still stuck with the problem.

Check the connection from the transformer to the track, and that all the track is well connected. Make sure nothing is touching both tracks, shorting them out.

Hi I have a Rio Grande Train set that I bought for my son. The train works but is not responding or working when we use the remote . Ive out brand new batteries in the remote the light comes on when we...

Look for a small opening with little white tabs that can be moved up and down, on both the train and the remote. All the tabs must be in the same position. ( Same thing on a garage door opener.)
If that's not it, make sure the batteries are in correctly in both items, reversed batteries will run lites and such, but not remote controls.

Remote is not working for my Lionel Holiday Tradition Express Train with new batteries. Any suggestions?

I rewired my train this weekend..it now works on my outdoor setup....I found that the circuit board inside the engine had a blown capacitor and the power transitor was fried. I by passed the engine board found that it only would run backwards....went into the tender and taped into the power from tack bypassing the rectifer... By the way the engine does not start up when one uses the remote...there is a 20 second delay before starting

We are having difficulty turning on our New Bright Holiday Express Animated Train set. Husband and I have been trying to figure this out for our eager 2 little boys. The remote seems to turn (red light)...

Here are a couple of resources from New Bright:
http://www.newbright.com/public/electric-train-faq

http://www.newbright.com/images/Manuals/384%20ws%20manual.pdf

There is no On/Off switch on the train. Power goes from wall plug to transformer, then from transformer to track clip, which must be attached to the track. A control line goes from the track clip to the controller. Mine has a green light just above the red On/Off button that will come on even if the engine and tender are not on the track. The tender does all the work, and must be connected to the engine and on the track. There are four sliding contacts between the tender wheels that provide contact with the track.

I bought the set last year of holiday lionel trains g replaced batteries, have light on remote and noise from engine but no movement? any ideas

If all cars are not properly on the track, the engine does not have enough power to pull the cars. Try with engine and coal car only to zero in on cause.

Holiday Express Train Set

We struggled with this just today...finally figured out that you have to twist the small piece right behind the bell on the top of the locomotive.

Check to make sure you have the large plug from the tender car to the loco plugged in correctly and secure. The tender car supplies power to the loco and if that cable is not connected the train will not run.

New Bright Holiday Express Animated Train - figures do not move

Make sure you the wheels on the cars are actually rolling and not sliding (being drug down the track) Most of the animation is down mechanically as the set moves.
