Two-Way Radio LI 5650 WXC -> ear bud doesn't work

Greetings,

I just bought the two radios -> they work fine. Except I bought them because they had ear-bud (the ear phone with PTT) wich does not work - no audio in the ear piece and transmission of voice.

I plug in the ear-bud and the PTT works but no audio and no transmission of voice. Yes, I tried both radios with same results. Yes, I tried each ear-bud with each radio.

I don't want to return them to Canadian Tire. Just want them to function.

Did you try plugging in the audio device before turning on the radio? If so, follow this by pressing the PTT on the radio once. It should clear the problem.

Do you have the correct type of ear buds for the Samsung? When I first got my Samsung phone I only had ear buds for the iPhone, but they are wired different than ear buds made for the Samsung. I went online and bought ear buds for the Samsung and now all is copacetic.

I have bellsouth 2231 communicators, the accessory package mentions model A174 ear bud Microphone accessory, is this product specific or would any ear/mic product work?

Most of these type devices use similar accessories. Your local RadioShack, BestBuy, or perhaps even WalMart may have an accessory that will work with the device.

Low power on vx-3200

No, they are limited to 5 watts and will not go into the Amateur band. Modification of those radios to other uses is illegal.

Hi There I want to use my ipod Nano Radio while the ipod is in its docking station and play the music through the dock speakers but the radio wont work without the ear buds plugged in for reception. What...

The ear buds are not only the headphones but are also the antenna for the radio.
This one issue that has to be addressed by the dock manufacturer. You will have to tamper around with the Nano to modify it to work with out a ear buds by letting a wire permanently hang out from the device - which I think would look ugly !!!

Ear bud/ptt, not working

Two things to check for:

1) The radio is shut off when you plug the earpiece into the radio.
2) Your VOX feature is shut off, or set to zero. (The XTN radio will sense an audio device is plugged into the jack and sometimes cause problems such as you are having.)

Lastly, be certain the accessory is designed to be used with the XTN style radio.
