Cannot increase the volume on Coby TV

I have regular volume but cannot increase the volume. It shows that you are turning up the volume but the sound does not increase. I have tried unplugging it from the wall outlet and disconnecting the coxial cable but the problem remains the same.

It sounds that the volume to your TV is locked in its service menu. To unlock it, you have to enter its service menu options to unlock it. This is really a skilled work, need sound knowledge in electronics to proceed. Improper data settings done to this window might turn your TV irreparable. It will be best to contact any expereinced service techinician in this matter.

SOURCE: I received a 15" Coby

Couple things; You have to "program" the set to receive the analog channels your cable system is still sends out. Doubtful it will be too many. You may have to rent a set top box from them.

My COby tv wont turn on.

I unplugged my TV for 5 minutes after 5 minutes I pressed the Power button on the side of the TV not the power button on remote for a full minute. Plugged the TV back in, pressed the power button and it turned on. Doing this essentially does a reset.

Check the speaker/s first. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. Poor quality sound - low volume on Netflix. Everything fine on regular TV programmes.

You have to go to the sound mixer on your PC and increase the volume on Internet Explorer, Microsoft Silverlight also.
To find the mixer try clicking on the speaker on the taskbar.

No volume

Look on remote to see if there is one button labeled "mute." If so push that when tv is on and see if that fixes sound. Or find volume buttons on tv and hold down button that is for increasing sound, should show a scale on screen with volume increasing.

What outlets do I hook up to on the reciever and the tv for it to play on regular tv stations

Cable Box optical Digital Audio to Coby Digital Audio In. (This brings TV-related multi-channel and normal audio into the Coby so you can hear it over the speakers. Turn TV volume OFF.

The cable box probably has a pair of stereo Audio Out RCA jacks. Run those directly to the TV so you can watch and hear cable programming over the TV's speakers without having to turn the Coby on. Turn TV volume UP.

Depending on your TV's Video In capabilities, use the Cable Box Component (Red, Blue and Green), or Composite Video (single Yellow associated with the Audio Out) directly attached to the TV.

Hi there,

You need to select the source of your home theater system. Press <SOURCE> on the home theater remote to switch between DVD, TUNER, and LINE modes. Select LINE, then you should now hear audio from your TV, Please make sure that your TV is not muted, just increase the volume until you hear audio on home theater. Also increase the volume of your home theater.

Can't get surround sound for tv shows

The coby dvd 988 has 2 rca audio input jacks, you need to have these connected to your TV AUDIO OUT jacks, these are usually colored red and white like right and left stereo jacks, be sure to set up the TV for AUDIO output through these connections, some tv`s require that the internal built in speakers are cancelled and the audio output jacks are enabled. Set the coby input signal to receive the port you pluged the tv signal into.
