I have a Pioneer audio surround-sound system that includes an SX-315 reciever/conrol unit. When I turned it off, a spark came from the on/off button caused by static electricity. Now I have to unplug it to turn it off or on, it is stuck on the radio station that was last on. None of the control buttons on the reciever/console push buttons work, but the rheostat volume control does control the volume. Also it does not respond to the remote control. The DVD/CD player does work with it's own remote control and buttons, but can not be used because the reciever console has to be set first to DVD/CD. Please help.

connect to same terminals as front speakers, this will also cause reduced volume from front speakers. (as per owners manual)

SOURCE: universal home theater remote for Pioneer VSX-305 audio/video stereo receiver
Don't spend a lot of money for a universal remote. Radio Shack has some good buys. I think you are the same person who is having problems with a 305. Get rid of it. You can make a quantum leap at Amazon for less than $200 for a Pioneer.
SOURCE: pioneer sx-315 receiver stays in phones in mode and no sound is coming out of my main speakers
I had this exact same problem. What I did was take the cover off.
From the inside of the phone jack, there was a brown plastic cable tip
and a white plastic cable tip and I unplugged both of those. I turned
the power on after unhooking them then pressed a few buttons on the
front to make sure it no longer said "PHONES.IN". Then, powered off, I
plugged them back in, powered on, and it works just like it did
before. Hope this helps!
SOURCE: how do i reset my
1. Switch the reciever into standby.
2. While holding down the TONE button, press and hold the STANDBY/ON button for about three seconds.
3. When you see RESET? appear in the display, press the ENTER button. OK shows in the display.
4. Press SETUP to confirm.
OK appears in the display to indicate that the receiver has been reset to the factory default settings.
