How to replace a broken pull cord on a leaf blower.
1) Remove Hex bolts holding plastic leaf blower housing in place with your hex wrench. you may want to cut the cord with scissors and loosen the bolt or screw securing the rope assemble with hex wrench or screwdriver.
2) Remove spring assembly Carefully. (DO NOT REMOVE THE SPRING ONLY REMOVE THE ASSEMBLY)
3) Remove old cord. Notice the direction the pull cord is wound. This is important in the following step
4) Wind new pull cord in the same direction you removed it, as in step 3, Make sure cord secures in the slot provided on pull and assembly.
5) Replace the pull cord pulley and place over spring.(This is the white plastic spool.)
6) Rotate the pull cord assembly 2 or 3 times in the same direction the cord pulls. (wearing safety goggles and work gloves) Reinsert the center screw by securing in in place with your screwdriver.
7) Insert the leaf blower cord into the end of the handle opening. Secure the handle by tying a knot at the bottom of the new cord.
8) Place the pull cord assembly back onto your blower in its designated area then secure by refastening the 4 hex nuts.
9) Replace the housing cover of blower and refasten the hex nuts.(the housing you removed in step 1.)
I hope this was some help to you. Good luck.

Anyone know anything about starting a generator when pull cord is broken from crankshaft? Devilbiss gb5000

Simplest solution is to repair or replace the pull cord. Small generators are designed to be simple. The pull cord assembly and spring are usually a single combined part. They are usually fairly easy to swap yourself.

I opened the vacuum,i checked the cord and it is in the correct form, not tangle etc..still doesn't work after pluging it the wall out let..help

Possibly a broken wire. It is common for the flexible cable to break at the 3 pin plug end from constantly pulling the cord / plug out of the socket or if its a retractible cord, they get broken where the cord enters the machine rewinder. this happens when the cord is pulled out to its maximum length all the time and eventually cuts through the cord. I would try a new 3 pin plug first.

I have tried to post my question several times, asking how to change the pull cord on my Poulan 625 series lawn mower, it hasn't posted and I can't seem to get an answer.

did this break at the pull handle? if so you will still be able to re-use the same cord.
you have to first remove the pull mechanizum from the top of the engine. turn it upside down and get the old pull chord off 'If it has broken at the engine end of the cord. You will find the end of the cord inside, remove it with a pair of pin nosed pliers.
If broken at the pull handle remove the broken and of the cord from the back side of the handle. There will be a knot tied in either end. Assuming you still have enough pull cord . Cut the broken end so it is not frayed slip it through the pull handle and tie a simple knot & make it tight with some pliers.
re wind the spring by hand winding the cord back into the spool.
now you need a small zap strap to hold it all in place until you reinstall the pull mechanizum on top of the engine.Once you have done this cut the zap strap off and retrieve it as you do.
Hint* "with only 2 hands" I have used pin nosed vice grips to hold back the spring while I tie it off with zap strap or stiff string.
If the cord if broken at the engine end you will need to line up the cord input with the cord journal and hold in place while you try to feed the cord back through. Hint* use a smaller peice of wire to feed through the opposite direction and wind it around the cord several times so you can pull it through to the inside of the pull mechanizum and tie a knot. Good luck

The pull cord on my poulan pro weedeater will not

You have a broken recoil spring. Dis-assemble (pull-off) the recoil housing and check for proper dog alingnment, broken spring, or something jammed between recoil sprocket and engine block.
