I'm not sure yet whether this response was correct, or not. I spoke with Samsung Level-2 support which directed me to a Samsung authorized warranty repair facility near where I live. There, I was told that the problem could be caused by several different things, including a processor board all the way up to the panel itself. On the low-end, it could cost $150 to repair, on the high-end (panel failure) replacing the TV is the least-expensive route. There are a few things that can cause this. Your t-con board, the signal board or the screen itself. The most likelly and cheapest would be the t-con board. This is the board that transfers your picture from the signal board to your screen. You would have to open up your tv and get the part number from the board itself.
You can get get parts for this tv at www.interliquidparts.com
with the TV off. press "Mute" "1" , "8" , "2" , "Power" on the remote (one at a time). But be careful when in there, you can change setting to keep your TV from ever working again.
Y-sus or Z-sus board problems it depends on the area there in, not sure on this set, but you can google this problem and you tube shows video on how to replace.
im afraid to say that your display has gone the best thing you can do is call the supplyer of the tv if its under warranty or call samsung. the cost of a new display will be 400 - 500 pounds so you may have to buy a new set.
Open up the TV and unplug and re-plug the connectors to the circuit boards. This is most often caused by a poor connection of the circuit board connectors.
