Motion detection on DCS-950G does not work

I'd like to know if other people have those same problems as me:

1) Adjustable window disappear

Repro steps:
- Activate Motion in the motion detection page.
- Setup a zone (smaller adjustable window in the camera view). activate it and save it.
- Change page and come back in the motion detection page.
- When you click on the button zone you just setup, the adjustable window no more appear.

If you don't activate the zone, the window is till there when you click the button zone.

2) OpenMSD

Repro steps:

- Activate Motion in the motion detection page.
- Setup a zone (smaller adjustable window in the camera view). activate it and save it.
- Click the OpenMSD button.
- No motion is detected, no matter the sensitivity or percentage presets.

SOURCE: DCS-1000w through Dlink DIR-655 router

These cameras are touchy. Hold the reset button on the back in for about 20-30 seconds. Bring up the CD software you got with the camera, it should spot the camera right off and you can configure. That seems to be the only way I can communicate with this model. After setup, then browsers, etc seem to work fine. I would also download the latest Firmware and update.

Try to uinstall and reinstall the software. Ping the camera if you are getting a reply. Reset the camera by pressing the small hole on the side. If everything is already done then same thing occur then you have a defective camera.

D-Link DCS-932 Camera - Java Error viewing remotely

Unfortunately due to the limitation created by DLink you cannot set up your camera's Motion Detection feature through the MyDlink Application. (I suspect you are going to myDlink and trying the advanced setttings)

Instead you have to access through your internal netwok. Try access the devices webpage by going to windows explorer (my computer) and select the network drop down in the left hand window to display your network devices, Find which camera your wanting to set motion detection and double click it to connect to the devices webpage, same user/pw you used before, except this time it will display the main image under Java and also the motion detection grid

Audio

This may be a feedback issue if you are playing bsck the audio from the camera in the same room the camera is located in. Turn down the speaker volume or turn them off.

Currently 7 people living in flat - any new people that move in cannot connect .

The most likely problem is that the software that the camera uses is limited as to the number of simultaneous users. You could upgrade to a simple Pelco or Dedicated Micros server, and then the number of users can be in the hundreds, I believe. Let me know through a post if this is not the problem.
