Is the RGB computer-like jack at the rear of the Pioneer PRO-520HD projection TV a digital input like a DVI input? I'm trying to use the TV for BluRay discs. Chris Fox

After reading your sol'n I read on many on-line discussion boards that DVD manufacturers limit component output to 420i but the BluRay player I just bought (Panasonic BD-35) shows up to 1080i output from those jacks in the specs. Thank you mightily.

    Chris

HOWEVER, any output above 420i only occurs with BlueRay discs; there is no upscaling of regular DVD discs via the component outputs.

    Foiled again!

The RGB input is like a computer monitor input, and may handle HD. I would recommend using component video instead for ease of use, but also most TVs will only handle a couple resolutions, but your component jack should handle 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i giving you flexabilty and a comprable picture.

Red light on back of pioneer pro-520hd

The most common issue on this model is the power board develops all kinds of bad solder connections--have to remove and in most cases hand solder the entire board.

Picture has a red hue to it. I have checked the convergence and the lines up and stays put. The TV was working great when I turned it off and when I turned it back on this condition was present.

The problem could be a few things, check your color balance and contrast or try adjusting the guns. If its a fuzzy red haze, kind of like a halo around things, it may just be that the crt coolant fluid needs changed. I, myself, have had a problem with the tinted halo in my rear projection Toshiba tv, I replaced the crt coolant fluid and the picture returned to good as new.

What type of audio jack rgb/dvi in on rear of lg 50ps3

the dvi out of pc via adaptor to hdmi on tv has no audio,ok.
so LG diagram shows separate audio into Audio in RGB/DVI.
Resulting in video in on HDMI ok,but audio on RGB.Can not get both together.
Fix is revert to DVI to RGB lead with audio on RGB/DVI input.
The audio jack would only work with mono plug for audio in, to RGB.

Colors are skewed on Pioneer Pro-520HD

you can replace your the convergence chips on the convergence board. The board is to identify because it has a large heat sink. The convergence chips normally starts with STK... After you find the chip, you can buy online (ebay has a lot of listing) and costs around $10. If you know how to solder, it is very easy to do. I just replace the convergence chips on myPRO-610HD and it works perfectly.
