This problem is present with Capture perfect 3.0 and 3.1 under Windows 7.
The software randomly cut out part of images during the scan process.
Top of image, the right side, etc. without any logic.
The same problem showed out when I used my previous scanner DR-2510.
But if I use DR-2510 under Mac OSX and with CaptureOnTouch everything goes fine and there is a full, beatiful image instead a single part of it.
Now, I just spent a large amount of money to buy DR-4010-c and what I get is a faulty software.
There is a solution to my problem?
Thank you in advance.
What I saw in the last 24 hours of tries, is that this problems appear if I select Deskew and, even without deskew, when I ask the program to autodetect the page size (all inside the Base Scanner Settings). What I saw in the last 24 hours of tries, is that this problems appear if I select Deskew and, even without deskew, when I ask the program to autodetect the page size (all inside the Base Scanner Settings).
I tried again to change parameters. Raising Contrast and lowering a little bit the Brightness helped me with a particular kind of paper and quite dark tones. But I'm not able to find a way to scan properly a darker image on glossy paper. All the right side of image is completely lost. Will try again tomorrow.I tried again to change parameters.

After many tries I have not found a solution. The Windows driver and software are not even comparable with the Mac OSX ones. If they could port the CaptireOnTouch software (the Mac version) on Windows it would be great. Even a driver for Mac would be appreciated. After many tries I have not found a solution.

Normally it is advisable to use only one Scanning Software. The software has various files which may overwrite the previously installed version. The later version works good.
It is also possible that the brightness/contrast settings in Captureperfect 3 is not proper. Try scanning after altering these.
you can download and Install Twain driver for this model and you can scan from Any Image Editor like photoshop and Acrobat PDF editor download link http://www3.canon-asia.com/downloads/drivers/dr/DR1210C/DR-1210C%20Driver1.1.zip
There is no 'User memory' in Dr 4010C. The memory available is sued as a buffer for processing scanned images. You need to have 'memory' i.e., storage space in your harddisk. If you are scanning in Color, you need larger space.

Go to their official webpage, and try to find software... or just download this Driver Update Software for XP Vista 7 8 and make the update. I hope I have helped. Have a nice day

I dont think the scanner can scan upside down. The image must be rotated after the scan. Any OCR software has confusion between 'L' & '7', S & 5, I & l (capital I and small L) and the OCR software rotates the drawing, based on initial perception. Just scan a set of Documents that were previously rotated while converting to PDF, as a JPG or TIFF file and check if the images are rotated.

Ensure you have loaded right drivers for Win 7 or download from http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010035.asp
Win 7 cannot create problems like freezing. It is lot more stable than XP. (I havent tried CapturePerfect with Win 7, but I feel it should work).

CapturePerfect ver 3 is on chargeable basis! You can download ver 2.0 from http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0022439.asp?model=
Though this is listed under Canon DR 5020, it works fine with DR 9080C. DR 9080C has very intelligent features and ver 2 works fine. I do not know if there are addl features with ver 3.0. I have used for scanning over 500,000 docs.

I have resolved this in the past and a new user just brought it up again.
The pafcv2.dll in Captureperfect 2 does not seem to work. If you install CapturePerfect 3 and copy the pafcv2.dll into captureperfect (c:\program files\canon electronics\captureperfect2 or whatever install path you used), you will find that you can now scan into PDF, even in batches!
