SOURCE: samsung yp s3 doesnt work on xp
I have Windows XP and Media Player 10.
I had same problem with Samsung media studio not recognizing MP3 player. Here is how I fixed it. With the MP3 plugged in, I had to go into System/ Hardware/Device Manager and find the S3 driver under "Windows portable Media" and uninstall it. Then unplug and replug the S3 into the usb so that driver gets reinstalled.
Then I decided windows media player and samsung media studio are unnecessary for transferring music files to MP3 player.
Instead I go into Portable Media Devices from the control panel and just treat the MP3 player like a usb device. I copy folders of music and songs into the Music folder on the MP3. For me this is way easier than the Samsung music studio or Windows Media player.

SOURCE: can install new firmwire
1. Download Winrar here, its a freeware, this will help you open the file
2. Download the firmware here, the newest one is 4.13
3. Unzip the firmware file and select "extract to" using winrar, just extract it to the "desktop"
4. After the 2 files are extracted from the folder, select both of them, right-click and select "cut"
5. Now, go to "My Computer", double-click "P2" (that's the MP4 player) and double-click "internal storage", now, in this directory, "Paste" the 2 files you "cut" earlier, once the files have been successfully pasted (look at your PC screen and MP4 player and make sure nothing is transferring), exit the window, unplug the MP4 player and power it on, the player will be updating and turning of a few times, but once its of, turn it back on until the whole process is finished.
SOURCE: Cant transfer:S
Probably a "Plug and Play" error...
Start control-panel(windows), then "Add hardware",
a list of installed USB hardware (and other hardware) will bee shown,
find the hardware called P2 in the list and select it,
then search for new drivers for this hardware,
I used "automatic detect" to find/repair drivers for the P2 device,
after that it was detected by windows.
so....after that you only have to solve the "video-transfer-problem",
to move avi files to the device..............
SOURCE: I have a connecting question for the Samsung P2
use control panel, then "add hardware" look for P2 in the list, reinstall it.
