My friend have a Brother DCP 115 C. I have take scans. it is asking insert black cartidge. what i have to do? is it i have load the ink cartidge. She told me that it is not required any ink? what shall we do? pl. reply immediately. savita

Just replace the catridge or the ink

It appears that one can purchase the black cartridge separately from the colour cartridges. But your Brother machine is designed to stop ALL printing operations when any of the ink cartridges are empty. In that case you would need to replace all ink cartridges that are empty in order to resume printing.

make certain that contacts on new cartridge and on printer are clean so computer can read replacement cartridge.good luck

sorry, in brother inkjet machine black is coming not only with the black ink but a combination of color ink. so u have to replace all the cartridges

Make sure the protective tape covering the new cartridge has been COMPLETELY removed then reinsert. Your printer should tell you that a new cartridge is inserted and ask to print a test page, align etc. Otherwise your cartridge may have a faulty chip which simply wont read.
In which case you need to return it and get a replacement.

You can't.The printer needs all ink cartridge to initialized.

there is a chip inside the cartridge that the printer firmware now failed to detect it. It is usually happen with refilled cartridge.

You can try Printer Resetter Software before you replace with the new original one (its the last option)
