Nikon coolpix 5700 flash isn't working...can a bulb be bought and replaced or do I have to send the camera to nikon for repair?

Pleaseremove the Battery from the camera and give a look inside the batterycompartment. Use a spot light & make sure that place are clean , not rusted& the battery connector pin are not bend or broken. After that insert thefully charged battery and try to turn on. If its not turn on then its confirmthe camera internal power supply unit is faulty. For few reason this problemstarted.1. Theconnectivity cable from camera to Circuit board damaged or disconnected.OR2. Thepower supply transformer stop working & need to replacement.OR3. turnon button connection may disconnected.

After visual checking by the technician is possible to say which part isfaulty. For the confirmation you need to visit a camera repair store. With outvisual survey technician can't confirm you which one of them is faulty. Thankyou.

From what I have heard Nikon has recalled the Coolpix 5700 because of the SB error. It has something to do with a connector coming away from the printed circuit board. I recommend that you get in touch with Nikon and see if they will repair the flash for you. Click on the link below to contact them.

The Nikon CoolPix 5700 can support up to 1 GB CF type memory cards, but only of a certain brand. Nikon maintains a list of approved cards - those brands and capacities that have been tested to work 100%. Other cards may work too - but no further testing of memory cards is being done with this model camera.

Go to your menu and try to reset your camera back to factory settings. If this does not work then take out the battery and hold down the power button for 15 seconds. If that still does not work then the flash light bulb is out and needs to be replace

your flash doesnt work to use the camera turn off the flash also you can get an external flash for less than it takes for them to fix it good luck

It appears that you have a ccd problem.
That particular model had a ccd problem, whether or not the flash is part of it, I do not know.

I have sent some Nikons in for repair, and they have been fixed free. The shipping will cost you to send in.

This camera was in the time when the ccd had problems.

Call Nikon concerning your camera. You can send it to them, they will estimate it, and may repair it for free if it is the ccd problem.

My Nikon coolpix 5700 camera was the same way.  We were told that there is a recall on this cameras because of this problem.  Go to the website listed below and follow through with the directions.  We sent ours in about 3-4 weeks ago and just got it back today in excellent working conditions again.  I hope this helps,  Good Luck!
