Tech had replaced a defective dmd chip yesterday and a stuck color wheel today now remotes dont control tv
SOURCE: remote control
I had the same problem. The problem is strange and seems to be with the receiver in the TV and not the remote control. The reason I say this is that when this first happened my Samsung brand DVD could actually control the TV. This then also failed, but still works fine with the DVD player.
Anyway there is an even more bizarre fix to all this......
- Remove the batteries from your TV remote.
- Press and hold the red (ON/OFF) button for at least 1 min.
- Replace the batteries and hey presto!!
I know seems far fetched but I found it on the Samsung website and it does work.

I HAVE THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM.
Confirmed with Samsung tech support. Problem is with remote. to fix, simple take the batteries out of the remote. Press and hold the UP Volume button for 2 Mintues (no cheating, it has to be at least 2 minutes), this Reset's the Remote Control. Put the batteries back in. Bob's your uncle. all fixed.

Step 1: Remove the batteries
Step 2: Press the power button (red button) on the remote control 5 times.
Step 3: Replace the batteries and your remote should work fine.

To program this Samsung remote to work with a TV, press the TV POWER button on the remote while entering a manufacturer specific code into the remote at the same time.
1. Switch the TV on.
2. Point the remote towards the TV.
3. Press and hold the TV Power button and enter the two-digit code for that brand of TV. If the code is compatible, the TV will switch off.
4. There may be more than one code for that manufacturer, so try them all until one works.
For Samsung TVs, one of the following codes should work:
+01 +02 +03 +04 +05 +06 +07 +08 +09
