Try accessing the system restore partition by cold booting holding down the F8 or F10 key. If this works, backup your HDD to the optical drive and replace the HDD.

I am trying to repair a Daewoo DVD Recorder DH-6111P and have need of a replacement hard disk drive 80Gb PATA. I have Seagate drives in stock. How do I prepare one for use in the machine?

hi, in this page show how backup software and very useful for drive replace
http://vladikuz72.narod.ru/DAEWOO_DHR/firmware_backup/how_to_backup.htm6
The major problems are often drive support and getting the drives formatted for use. It typically can't be done using a Windows PC. Some units will auto format the HDD once it is installed (assuming a recognized and supported HDD is used) and others have data stored on the drive which must be moved to the new drive before it can be used. I've never worked with any Daewoo models and aside from Tivo units try to avoid it as it isn't typically worth the headaches.

  1. Plug the HDD from the Daewoo in your PC.
  2. Download this program: https://rapidshare.com/files/2092882716/DMDE.7z2
  3. Open the program and select the appropriate physical drive from Daewoo (Disk Management)
  4. Click: Mode> Hexadecimal. Then click Tools> Copy Sectors
    Start sector: 0
    End sector: 19999
    Destination: Click "File"
And save where you can find it! It's probably 10MB.
  5. Click OK and after done, unplug the HDD
  6. Plugin you're new HDD and in the program click: Drive> Select Drive (you're new HDD)
  7. Again Hexadecimal mode! Look all the way down of the list. Find the number of the last block!
  8. Tools> Fill Sectors:
    Start sector: 0
End sector: That you've searched for
    Hex: 00
    Click OK
THIS MUST BE DONE, OTHERWISE IT WON'T WORK!!!!
  9. Now again Tools> Copy Sectors
By source, select file and open the file you've saved in the beginning.
    Destination: Start sector: 0
    Click OK
  10. You're done!!
Plug the new HDD in you're Daewoo product and if followed the steps.
It will give you the Daewoo boot up logo and immediately it will pop-up say: "Formatting Hard Disk"
I have now a 750GB HDD in my Daewoo!!! :D:D
You have now the OS System (.BIN file) of Daewoo on your computer for future reasons.

Ricoh af2027 please wait with a wrench no code

Hi that normaly indicates the there is something wrong with the HDD. open the back of the machine and unplug the HDD. Swith the machine on. If it turns on the HDD is faulty. The machine will work without the HDD but you will not be able to use the doc server. To fix the HDD plug it in to a PC and initilize it. (right click my computer, manage, disk management, right click on drive, initilize. Put it back in the machine.) Should solve the problem.

Powers up but HDD just clicks. Tried several things...

if the hard drive clicks, there's either a serious problem with the hard drive itself, but since you already tested with a drive that is sure to work, it has to be the motherboard. the other post you read, has probably nothing to do with your own problem. try reinstalling your system board's drivers or replace the system board if unsuccessful

USB HDD not showing in My Computer

It could be that the USB port on that computer is not delivering enough power.  Will your Drive accept external power?

Windows XP stopped recongizing eGo external Hard Drive I just installed a new iomega eGo 1 TB desktop Hard Drive yesterday, got the bugs worked out and my Dell w Windows Xp seemed to recognize it, Today,...

2 things... the USB port is bad, or the USB cable is too long and the HDD isn't getting a good signal.

1. Try another port and see if that works

2. Nip over to WalMart, Circuit City, Micro Center, PC World or Best Buy and get a shorter, Thicker USB cable of the same type - a cable which can provide the signal strength your ext HDD requires.

Also a possibility... The HDD may be 'lost' as Win cannot accept one of that size or the label/signature fell off and it is an orphan. It MUST have a driveletter, and it MUST have a special WIN signature byte on the HDD for it to work.

Bootup as normal, let everything get quiet, then plug in the ext HDD

Rt Click My Computer, Manage, Device Manager and in the Rt side, highlight the TOP icon. Then under Help, click the Computer with magnifying glass icon and wait. This forces your OS to 'Look' for any new devices.

When it finishes looking, look again under My Computer to see if your new HDD is now there. It will have to be formatted and have a driveletter for this part to work. Jump down to Disk Manager and see if it is there. You may have to Rt. Click and import it as a foreign drive or Rt click and give it a Driveletter ;-) If it is not, use a shorter, thicker (more wires) USB cable and try again.

Windows doesn't like Any HDD without win signatures on them - aka:'foreign disks' so ANY time this happens, if OS doesn't see it, use disk manager and Import it, then Rt click it and give it a Diskletter.
