Gas oven that cooks unevenly

I have a frigidaire gas oven that cooks unevenly. It burns cookies on one side of the cookie sheet. Any ideas? It is only 3 years old and cost about 500 bucks.

Thanks - John

My stove is only 2 years old and the orifices dont look bad, but I will clean them. It is a NG stove, but came with an attatchment so it could be used with propane. Is this unsafe?

    Thanks for your help !!

No, if it came with something to make it work on propane, that's fine, just make sure it's adjusted properly...otherwise you'll get a lot of sooting, and orange flames instead of blue.

Clean your orifaces.

Also make sure that it's the correct stove for your gas type. If you're using a NG stove on Propane, you're wrong. It's making a lot of soot, and could potentially blow up your house. Stop using it until you're sure.

Why does my new stove, bought Feb. 2014, have a problem cooking my meats or cookies?

Read your user manual about settings and rack placement.
Also check to see if you upper oven coil is working.
Ask your appliance maker or appliance repair shop.

Oven burns in back and raw in front

That oven is very poorly rated and is prone to a lot of repairs. Most people advise to get something else. There is no common solution. I am sorry.

My baxter rotating tray oven is not baking cookies evenly. The cookies on the outside of the cookie sheet are over-done and the cookies in the middle of the cookie sheet are not done ??

Inside your oven you have an array of louvers or fins in the back left corner and the front right corner. Sometimes a tray will jam and knock one of the louvers out of adjustment. You may need to call a local authorized service provider to come and reset your louvers to the factory settings. In the meantime you can attempt to make small adjustments to see if you can rectify the issue.

Do not ever adjust the louvers in the back left corner of the oven.
For the trays in question, to direct more air towards the center of the cookie sheet slightly bend the louvers in the front right backwards towards the rear of the oven. ONLY MAKE SLIGHT ADJUSTMENTS!! If you bend the louvers too far you will end up burning the center of the cookie sheet and under cooking the edges.

Uneven rising & baking in convection oven

I repair commercial cooking equipment for a living. When a customer complains about uneven cooking the #1 thing that these manufacturers ask is..... are they turning (180*) the baking sheets half way thru the cook cycle. #2 are they staggering the pans front to back & side to side. It's kind of a pain but, works for the commercial ones.
