I have a damaged microphone diode, capacitor or resistor on the PCB. I do not know what it is exactly. I have isolated it because when I lightly tap it with a rubber tipped pick it transmits audio for a moment. I tapped everything else on the pcb just to be sure it wasn't vibrations moving elsewhere on the board. It is a silver tube with wires and a light blue clear rubber sheath. On the side of the silver face is stamped 12.000. Does anyone know what this part is or has a schematic that points to what it is so I can order and replace this part?
SOURCE: Do I need a driver for plantronics USB DSP v4 audio interface
Yes you would need a driver for your Platronics headset if you intend to connect it to your PC
Could you please describe the model of your plantronic headset so that i can get the required drivers for you.
Thanks.

There are some small silver inserts on the side of each earpiece. You can pry them off (gently) starting under the cushion and working your way around.
You can then remove the old cushions and put in the replacements and snap these silver retainer inserts back on.
You can get replacement cushions online for about $16.
