Sometimes the player freezes. Instead of waiting for the battery to run out, hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Something that screwed up mine: before unplugging it from the computer, find the player under 'my comptuer' and right-click it, then click eject and wait 5 seconds for it to eject.

The same thing happened to mine. I tried to charge it and the blue light remained on. After an hour or so of trying to charge I disconnected it and pressed the on button and held it for 30 seconds and the light went off and I could turn it on. I then charged it and it appears to be working.

Sansa E200 screen stuck scribbly black vertical lines

When it is on, holding the power button in for 5 or more seconds hard resets the device. Give that a try. If not. it's possible it's been bounced one too many times and needs the LCD cable re-connected or the controller is bad for the LCD.

I have this same EXACT problem. Call the support system and they may be able to replace it or send you an email. Although I never got the email.... Sorry, and hope this helps.

Mp3 won't turn off and the screen doesn't work

My Sansa wouldn't turn off and I got it to do so by pressing the center button while holding the main menu button down. But then once I did, it wouldn't boot back up.
