The error relates to a carriage movement error detected by the printer. This means the printer has detected too much power is required ti move the print head.
Reason :
All these Service Requests (Service Requests 00010004 , 00010005, 00010006, 00010007, 0001000A, 0001000F, 0001001D) are related to a Carriage movement error that is not automatically due to a Hardware fault. The reasons can be :
- The carriage is lock not completely released.
- The carriage lock has been partially pushed in after a paper jam or maintenance (for example).

Points to check :
In case such an error appears:
- Power off the printer.
- Ensure the Carriage lock is released (pulled to the left side)
- Pushing down the cutter blade, slide the carriage to the left ? At the same time, please check if there is any foreign materials / dust / paper jam in the carriage path. If so, remove them.
- Also, make sure that the carriage encoder (T-Fence) isn?t dirty and is correctly set and centered.

Imaging drum is empty or missing (Error 40204)
Light patternDescription
The imaging drum is empty or missing. The imaging drum light is blinking, and then printer stops printing. An error 40204 is written to the event log. The printer cannot detect the imaging drum correctly.
Action
Reinsert or replace the imaging drum.
If the imaging drum light is still blinking but the Attention light is not on, turn the printer off, and then back on.
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 with a new imaging drum.
If the problem continues, contact HP Customer Care at http://www.hp.com/support/clj2550 or see the flyer that came in the printer box for other contact information.
Imaging drum e-label reader is faulty (Error 10004)
Light patternDescription
The imaging drum light is blinking, and then printer stops printing. An error 10004 is written to the event log. The imaging drum e-label reader is faulty and the printer cannot detect the imaging drum correctly.
If error number 40204 was writtent to the error log, the imaging drum is either empty or missing (I would suspect empty). If error number 10004 was written to the error log, the imaging drum e-reader may have failed. So, in either case, reinsert the imaging drum. If the light continues to blink and the Attention light (exclamation point in a triangle) is not on, turn the printer off and then back on. If this does not clear the error, replace the imaging drum with a new one. Again, if the light continues to blink and the Attention light is off, turn the printer off and then back on.
If the error persists after these steps, let us know and we can persue other options.
That is a supply error. Try changing the toner that you last replaced. If it is generic then the micro chip that the unit reads on the toner cartridge may not be good. It is common with recyclers.
