After downloading music into Windows Media Player and then syncing into the Sansa Clip without a problem, I prefer to delete the music from the computer to save valuable hard drive space, but everytime I plug the mp3 player into the computer it refreshes it's music list, finds the files missing from the computer and deletes them from it's own memory. How can I avoid this? Using Windows XP Pro OS...............Anyone.............Anyone.............?

Syncing and transferring music files to the Sansa player using Windows Media Player 10
How do I sync or transfer music files to/from my Sansa player using Windows Media Player?
STEP 1 - Connect the Sansa player to the computer
STEP 2 - Run Windows Media Player
1. Go to Start > Programs > Windows Media Player.
NOTE: If you can not see Windows Media Player on the menu, go to Start > Run then type WMPLAYER then OK.
STEP 3 - Sync files to the Sansa player. 1. Click the Library tab.
2. Drag the music files to be transferred on to the right panel.
NOTE: You can also right-click on the title of the song and select Add to sync list.
3. After creating the list, click the Startsync button to sync and transfer music files to your device.

1. First, you have songs saving in your computer.
2. You have 2 ways to put music on the Sandisk Sansa Clip:
2.1. Plug device into computer, Drag and Drop music from your computer into "Music" folder of the Sandisk Sansa Clip.
2.2. Use Windows Media Player in your computer to transfer songs to your device; Plug device to computer, open Windows Media Player, click on Sync tab, drag and drop music into "Drag items here " on the right side of the windows media player, click on Start Sync button.
Good luck

You have 2 ways to transfer your songs from your computer to your sansa clip:
1. Plug sansa clip to computer, double click on "Sansa Clip ...GB", double click on "Internal Memory", you will see the file "Music", copy your songs and paste them into Music file of the device.
2. Using Windows Media Player: open windows media player, plug sansa clip into computer, click on Sync tab, select songs that you want to sync, drag and drop song selected into "Sync list" on the right side of the windows media player (you should update wmp11), then click on button Start Sync.
First, connect your SansaDisk to your computer via the USB cable. Secondly, open your Windows Media Player. You can sync the musics from your Windows Media Player to your MP3 player.
plug in the music player to the pc with usb a cable then open my computer and double click removable drive then copy paste the songs which u want to transfer to the player and then safetly remove the device and enjoy the song which u get in the portable player
It should be recognized by your computer.
I did a search for drivers and they are not needed for this model.
For music, After the computer has recognized it has been plugged in. Start, My Computer, and it should show up in there as (my sansa or sansa clip) something along those lines.
You may open it and drag your music files into the accroding folders inside the device.
OR You may use Windows Media Player 11 to Sync to your Mp3 Player. The Sansa Clip has problems with Windows Media Player 10 so i would reccomend using Media Player 11 to sync.
For future help or more questions please comment,
I hope this has helped :)
You probably have your Windows Media Player set up to auto-sync - since this player is smaller than your total music collection, it is too much for both WMP and the Sansa. Disable auto-sync and you should be fine. Windows Media Player 10 is fine. Windows Media Player 11 works also.
I had the same problem, all you have to do is first turn on the Mp3.Then go to settings. Then go down to USB mode. It will probably say, auto detect. But instead scroll down to MSC. If that doesn't work try MTP.
