I tried to put in a dvd driver from a hp computer
Hold down the power button until the computer shuts off. The press the button to restart and see what happens. There are several different ways to startup. immediately upon hearing the boot tone, press and hold the shift key to boot in safemode. If this fails as well, then you will need to boot with the install CD. This is done by immediately pressing holding the C key upon powerup

Do you have Final Cut Pro? If not which editing system do you have. Imovie may do the trick. You need to import the video onto the computer and then process it and export it to DVD via a program that has that capability such as Final Cut Pro or Final Cut Express (I believe that will do it, too).
Hope this helps!

You should be able to if you are using quark license administrator as QLA uses the ethernet address commonly known as the MAC address and this is hard wired on the computer and not the hard drive to verify the license.
Testimonial: "Thanks I will now attempt to install Quark on my new hard drive. V."

You've probably already figured out drivers for an HP (intel processor) won't work on a G5 (Power PC processor). I'm not sure how this puts your computer to sleep; I think that's a separate problem. Just to make sure, did this happen the very next time you started the computer, or right after you installed the driver? How did you get the driver installed?
