Hi I know what you think but The DvD's are 8X so there should be no problems the only thing is that I need possibly a new firmware installed on the drive, I have looked but cant seem to find it anywhere... !

Please reinstall the drivers for the both of the problems,if you dont have any cd then plz visit the manufacture website and download the drivers, after installing the problem is not solved then plz try with another drive,if the problem persist then try by reinstalling the OS

This worked: thanks to riozebratubo

delete the entires in regedit.exe

"UpperFilters"
"LowerFilters"

They're inside:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]

-uninstall the driver
- restart

Vista is searching for existing drivers -> done

SOURCE: Compatibility wth DVD and burning speed 4x instead of 8x

The write speed of your machine is 4x. It will only write at 4x no matter how fast your DVD blank is. When your write at a slower speed, you get a better quality DVD picture.

You should have a start up disc for the thing that will restart the drivers or go the the Pioneer website and they posslbly have an upgrade or even on the microsoft website just look if not reformat the hrddrive with the original os if it wasnt bootlegged

Pioneer DVR-K17B

I have the same problem. Has anyone found a solution? I have an HP Notebook dv6700 with a Pioneer DVDRW [DVR-K17B ATA Device]. For the past few months I haven't been able to burn anything to disc. I can't find any firmware updates online. I'm not sure if I need to buy a new drive?

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

I can't write DVD with my Pioneer DVR-107D DVD±RW

What brand of media are you using?

You are burning at 2x because that is the highest that this drive supports.

You would also want to instruct Nero to Verify by ticking the check box and either finalize disc or make it mulitsession, if your burner supports multisession DVDs
