SOURCE: My Dryer will only work if I hold start button, when I release start button the dryer stops.

Anra, this is a classic symptom of a failed even heat board. I've seen a lot of these failures out there. Easy to change out. Check out this link. Catriver..post back http://www.repairclinic.com/0080.asp

Whirlpool cabrio dryer has power but won't start

I had the same problem. It's as simple as a piece of plastic that broke off from inside the user interface housing which is what depresses when you push the start button. Since it broke, clicking on the start button did nothing.

To fix it, I just superglued the piece back together and it works perfectly again.

I lost Power from a Thunder Storm and now my Whirlpool Cabrio top loader won't open

Hello,
Thats sounds as if the lock asm is stuck. As soon as the power went off the lock would have de-energized and should have opened.

Too check the lacth for sticking open the top by placing a putty knife in the seam between the top/front cabinet panel at the corners and push in to release the clips that hold the top to cabinet then raise top and see if something appears to be stuck on latch asm.

Our Whirlpool Cabrio Elecetric dryer will not start. Model is WED6200SW1. We had just finsihed drying a load and put a 2nd load in, but it won't start. All the light come on. Could it be a sensor...

it could be that or it could be the start button, you can check the button by adding a jumper in the wires that go to it,, this should be done as a check and not left that way,, for safety

HOW TO PUT DRYER RACK INTO WHIRLPOOL CABRIO #WGD6600VWO

If it is a dryer with the lint screen on top place the two ends of the metal loop into the two holes closest to the plastic clips on the bottom of the rack. The clip the metal bar down into the clips and the multi-bent part of the metal ring are now atteched to the bottom of the plastic rack. Turn it over and place the metal ring in to the back of the dryer and the front lip of th plastic rack then hangs loosly over the lip of the bottom of the opening of the dryer. It will all tighten up when you close the door. Hope this helps

Whirlpool Duet Ghw9150pw1 would not start

This advise is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet front loader washers and dryers with a Control Lock problem.

This may or may not be an indication of a serious problem. In the majority of the cases, this is a simple operator error. Nearly all these model appliances have some sort of Control Lock feature on the front panel now. This is a designed safety feature that is used to prevent small children from manipulating the controls. The controls can be easily locked or unlocked by pressing and holding the following button on the front panel:

Whirlpool Duet Washer - Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.

Whirlpool Duet Dryer - Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.

Kenmore Elite Washer - Press and hold the DRAIN/SPIN button for 3 seconds.

Kenmore Elite Dryer - Press and hold the AUTO DRY LEVEL button for 3 seconds.

These instructions may not be all inclusive for all Kenmore and Whirlpool models, but they are the most common. Chances are, if you have a Control Lock feature, the instructions will be printed on the front panel adjacent to the button that is required to lock or unlock the controls.

NOTE: These instructions may also work for newer model Maytag, Hotpoint, Admiral and Fridgidaire model front loaders as well. Refer to your owner's manual or front panel for instructions pertaining to your sepcific model.

If the Control Lock feature will not lock or unlock the appliance, unplugging the unit for AT LEAST 30 minutes is recommended in order to reset the main control board. In many cases this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches.
