Possible broken tub piece on Kenmore Elite 11042822203
Hello,
I noticed some greyish plastic pieces in the dryer when removing some clothes. Upon first sight my initial thoughts was that my kids left crud in their pockets.
When removing next load from the front loading washer I noticed more of the plastic. After I placed the wet clothes in the dryer I reloaded the washer with some towels to run a load. During the spin cycle I noticed the washer was really making a lot of noise, could hear it coming from the basement, something I usually do not notice. When I removed the towels I found more plastic and started to look around. I pulled back the bellows and found more plastic, all the same type. When looking at the plastic close to the SS drum it looks like a rim of plastic, possibly a bearing surface for the drum is completely worn and broken.
My guess is that I need new Front Outer Tub for the Washer.
Trying to find a repair guide so I can start the tear down and know for certain what needs to be replaced.
If I don't start this soon I know my wife will just opt to replace the entire washer. Things are not cheap these days and I would rather save some cash buy trying to repair it first, if possible.
Thanks for the help.
well not sure about yours but some front load washers have a five year warranty on the tub but you have to pay the labor which is between 100-150dollars

Hello there: It spins, but doesn't pumpIf
your washer spins but doesn't pump the water out, the drain line is
probably clogged. In many washers, a small sock or other piece of
clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds
the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into
the drain hose that's attached to the pump--or even into the pump
itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump
and pull the item out.To
remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access
panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump
to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using needle-nose pliers, try to
grab and remove the clothing through the port. Sometimes
you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove
the agitator, top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. This
isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools--so you might be
happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job.If
the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even
if the pump appears to be turning, the internal impeller may be broken.
If so, you need to replace the pump.
possible that ther is a piece of clothing, if you can "pop" the top and tilt the top back, you can then unsnap the upper tub ring cover, that tub "floats in the unit so you can lift it right out. as far as the f51 what was the result on that?? thas usually requires replacing trhe "rps" sensor and main control board, id call whirplool depending on age for that matter
Has something fallen behind the drawer, and is preventing it from sliding back all the way? Remove the drawer by pulling it all the way out and lift it up and out. Look for anything that has fallen back there.
One of the support arms on the back of the spin basket (stainless steel tub) is broken and causing it to spin in the fashion you describe. The only fix is to replace the spin basket. Using it in its current condition will cause serious damge to the outer tub shell. Let me know if you decide to replace it or need assistance locating a replacement tub. I can assist you in how to disassemble the washer and how to reinstall a new tub. Sorry...I wish this was better news.
suspect front tub support/bearing ring worn remove top by removing screws under front edge of top lift top 1 screw each side of front on inside front ring attaches to front panel look for worn plastic ring and pads
There are a couple of guide wheels in the back of the dryer. when they get worn out the tub will have excessive play and will trap clothes inside. Just remove the front cover loosen the belt and remove the drum. the worn wheels will be easy to spot. It is an easy and cheap fix.
