I am not sure about your model but a call to Mitsubishi to ask if the set has one or two mirrors would offer a possible explanation---the ones with two mirrors have a small one at the bottom--it gets coated with dust and brightness drops up to 75 percent----other possible reason is the lamp may be nearing the end of its life.

I would have Mitsubishi look to see if this model uses the two mirrors--if that is the case cleaning will cure this--if you find it has two mirrors I can tell you what is involved--on Vacation but do look here--let me know what you find.

SOURCE: Dark screen since new

Wow only 10 then major work, hum. First if pic is:Split screen picture with one half darker than the other half. "Deep Field Imager" is set to the demo mode, press the "video" button repeatedly to cycle through the video settings until Deep Field Imager is accessed and then change the setting from demo to "on" or "off" depending on preference. Also u can try:1. Dark blue raster with faint movement in the background, suspect the FMT PCB part # 934C153001 . Also1. May be intermittent. Remove and reseat the DVI cable between the Chassis and Optical engine 2. Removing and reseating the DVI cable does not resolve, replace the Optical Engine part # 938P015020 Hope this helps Tom!!

My 65 Mitsubishi DLP TV model # WD 60736 has a dark picture. I have changed the bulb twice and maxed the brightness and contrast controls and the picture is sill dark. How can I correct the problem?

Hello There!!!!!!
Well this is gonna take some work... First thing to start with is...

When you replace the bulb/s -does the bulb actually illuminate?

If you shine a very bright light into the surface of the screen can you see a faint image of whats on the set?

Do you get sound?

If the bulb is illuminating, is it blowing soon after?

Did the set return to normal operation after replacing the bulb the first time?

Side Note-Never touch a high power bulb glass enclosure because you can leave oils and moister that lesson the life of the bulb or make it more prone to blowing. I have no facts to support this note beside my own experiences but this is a known "thing".

WD 73835 has ghosting images during dark or red scenes

Make sure your contrast isn't set too high. Most ghosting is caused by either contrast, brightness or tint issues. Try adjusting these settings. Also check if there is a Dynamic contrast setting for your TV as well as this can cause ghosting also.

Just bought a Mitsubishi WD-52526. With Brightness, Color, Sharpness, Contrast, Everything Video turned all the way up the Screen is still very dim. Is this a lamp issue?

It could be. Do you know if the previous owner ever changed the bulb? If not you may have to replace it. The bulb usually costs around 160ish. I would try it and see if it helps the brightness.

Screen is dim. Have brightness turned up to max setting. Does the lamp get dim with age? Mitsubishi WD-Y577 dlp rear projection tv

Yes... from the moment the lamp is put into service, it begins to deminish in brightness. You should order a replacement lamp to have on hand.

Monitor dims on a black background hanns G 28

Go into monitor settings and turn "off" X-Contrast. X-Contrast will auto change contrast when backgrounds darkens. However, adjust manually the Brightness and Contrast settings to compensate.

Best settings for moderate to low light viewing?

Using your remote, click the "video" button (mid area, Right hand side) and adjust the brightness, contrast, etc., to your liking. Only you know what you like. If your picture can be "plenty bright enough"...then just make the necessary adjusts to whatever looks best to you. If your picture is "very dim" no matter what the video settings are, you need a complete cleaning of all lens, mirrors, and screen...and possibly a new lamp.
