Examples to change browser setting to aid navigation

Not sure just what you are asking, but when configuring a router, I make a bookmark/favorite and put it on the desktop so I don't have to keep keying the IP address. I usually delete it a day or so after I'm sure everything is working properly.

FixYa.com navigation problem. Trying to scroll down with the "down arrow" key, but it keeps jumping to the bottom of the page (as if I pressed the "page down" key). I don't remember having this problem...

As far as I know this should be a setting within your web browser and not set by the Fixya website. Check your browser settings and make sure you have not changed the keyboard behaviour.

Hope that helps!

How do I change the frequency of my router

Here are the steps to change frequency:

1. Open a web browser and type the IP address of the router into the navigation bar. For most routers, the IP address is 192.168.1.1.

2. Enter your username and password into the prompt. This is the administration password to access the router's console.

3. Click the "Wireless" tab. Select "Basic Wireless Settings." This opens a window with a "Channel" section. This section is where frequency settings are changed.

4. Select channel 1, 6 or 11. These channels provide the clearest signal since they do not overlap other channels. Click the "Save" button and close the browser window.

5. Reboot the wireless computers. A change in frequency drops wireless devices from the network. The computers need to be rebooted to find new network settings.

I want to change password for wifi network

1
Open up an Internet browser window on your computer system. To gain access to the default settings, type in the default IP address of the wireless router in your Internet browser's address bar and press enter. You must refer to the wireless router's documentation or navigate to the manufacturer's website for the correct IP address.

2
Type the default user name and password in the security dialog box that appears, then press Enter on your keyboard. Because different router manufacturers use different default user names and passwords, refer back to your router's documentation or support webpage for the correct information.

3
Navigate through the router administration pages to find the wireless router's administrator password settings. Change the default user name and password to a unique set so that possible unauthorized access to your router settings will not take place. Make sure to hit "Save Settings" to complete the change.

4
Set up your wireless security settings by navigating to the proper administration settings page. By default, wireless routers do not come with a password for connectivity access. Choose the appropriate wireless security level you need and type in a unique user name and password. Save these new settings and log out of the router's administration setup.

5
Write down the user names and passwords for both network access and the administration setup page. Keep these user names and passwords in a safe place.

Thanks.
Have a great day.
