Camera plays in fast forward-like speed

When I play the tape back it plays like it's in fast forward mode. No sound and really fast. And if I press fast forward is speeds up even more.

Though I don't know the details of your camera and the tape you are playing, one explanation could be that the tape was recorded in "extended play" EP rather than "standard play" SP. Some VCRs and some cameras are incapable of playing back in EP, a mode where the tape moves at half speed so you can record more on the same tape. The result is that the tape playing back at regular speed appears twice as fast and fast forward will be even faster.

Unfortunately, unless your machine can be manually set to play back in EP (usually it is automatic) the solution is to play it back in a machine that can handle EP.

I have a Panasonic omnimovie Pv-610 and only one of my vhs tapes plays in fast forward mode, how can I fix?

If you mean just the one and the rest then it was probably recorded in Extended Play mode and nothing can be done.
Otherwise please explain your issues in more detail.

Sony taperecorder TC-355 will only run in fast forward. when trying to play in any speed tape moder went into fast forward and would not play tape.

If the speed-controlled roller is not closing to pinch the tape when PLAY is selected, the recorder will play in a fast mode. You will need Isopropyl alcohol, contact cleaner, Q-tips a screwdriver needle-nose pliers and a steady hand to clean every moving part in that Reel-To-Reel and then lightly lubricate the moving parts.
While you are in there I would change the belts as well. Or send it to a qualified repair shop and pay $ 125.00 to $ 200.00 for same thing to be done. Take your time, it's just a big puzzle, make sure you video or document everything you remove so it goes back together correctly. Good Luck!

This is most likely caused by a damaged or misaligned video drum and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

Video Playback in fast mode (canon ixus 80)

Oh my, sounds like you accidentally recorded in "Time Lapse" mode (one of the specialized video features of your camera). Unfortunately, there's no way to convert the already taken video back to "Standard" video with sound, I'm sorry. However, you'll obviously need to set your camera back to standard mode for future videos. Press the "Function" button while in video mode. Then press left/right to select "Standard" video.

Forward fasts on its own

you may want to try fast forwarding at 2x (that is, press the FF key twice), although the speed will be faster, it may actually stop for you, when you press play, rather than going to the end.

My VCR tapes skip or only play in fast forward

If you are recording the tapes in a slow speed, then I would suspect that the tracking pulse is not being recorded properly. Since this is a new VCR, return it for an exchange. One of the recording heads is bad.

I suggest you get the Tape path cleaned up. Could be dirty video heads or a dirty Control Head. Use a good 'wet' type cleaning cassette.

Help it's going to fast

Your camera has a capstan servo problem which is more than likely being caused by the capstan motor itself.Nothing you can do youself, would suggest bring to service but reccomend getting estimate before repairing.
