Motherboard installed in computer case;
Processor to the Top, 3 Ram Memory slots to the Right, 5 white PCI slots to the Bottom;
Down in the Bottom/Right corner, is JFP1, and JFP2.
The Front Panel header is JFP1. (Junction Front Panel 1)
The header with two rows of pins, and is positioned Horizontal. It is parallel to the bottom of the motherboard.
(The other Front Panel header is JFP2. It is positioned Vertical, and is above JFP1. You may be using it also. Read on)
There are two rows of pins for JFP1.
5 across the Top, 4 across the Bottom.
The pins on the Top row are numbered ODD.
The pins on the Bottom row are numbered EVEN.
Top row, starting from the Right side, going towards the Left;
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.
Bottom row, starting from the Right side, going towards the Left;
Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8. There is NO pin 10.
A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive activity LED light.
Pin 1 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
If the Harddrive activity LED light is dim, when the harddrive is active, switch the wires around.
B) Pins 5 and 7 are for the Reset switch, IF a Reset switch is used.
C) Pin 9 is N/C. Not Connected. It is/was for the factory.
D) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED light. A Power On LED light that has 2 wires.
Pin 2 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
If the Power On LED is dim when the computer is on, switch the wires around.
E) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch.
Looking at JFP2. (Junction Front Panel 2)
Vertical with two columns of pins.
3 on the Right side, 4 on the Left side.
The Right side is numbered EVEN.
The Left side is numbered ODD.
Starting at the Bottom on the Right side, going Up;
Pins 1, 3, and 5.
Starting at the Bottom on the Left side, going Up:
Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8.
A) Pins 1, 3, and 5, are for a Power On LED light, that has 3 wires.
Pin 1 is for the Positive wire. (Dual color LED )
B) Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8 are for a Speaker. The speaker for BIOS Beep Codes.
Pin 2 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
Pin 8 is for the Negative ( - ) wire.
