Tv shuts off while watching

I have the same issue on my Vizio M470NV. I called Vizio and they told me it is a self diagnostic test that is shutting down the TV automatically to protect it. They said they are working on fixing the issue with a firmware update that will be pushed out automatically if you are connected to the internet. No ETA given on when that would happen. I called them on the 3/14/11 and my TV is still shutting down randomly.

have you got the sleep timer on?

Use ur original remote tries modes funsctions,Might need to change the backlight video inverter board.

Yes, you can adjust the picture by using your remote going to settings, or "Adjust" when your t.v. turns on and off by itself could have'ft to do with nasty weather near you, or the cord is loose and it needs to be pushed in all the way.

after 3 years it is a good chance that the lamp is going,,however if it plays its melody when it turns off there is a possibility thateither the lamp door switch or the thermostat are failinf

need to take the unit to or have a repairman visit for a proper diagnosis. causes for shutdown can be many.
