You have what we called delay ignition. may be the broiler ignitor too far away from broiler, partially clogged broiler orifice or bad ignitor, I"ll check the Amperage on the ignitor, it should draw above 3 AMPs, if not, then I'll change the ignitor first then check the orifice. Have fun.

Jenn-Air jgs8860bdp broiler doesn't ignite.

There are a few potential issues that could cause the problems you're experiencing with your Jenn-Air broiler. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Make sure the gas supply to the broiler is turned on and that there are no blockages in the gas line.
  2. Check the gas valve to make sure it is open and functioning properly.
  3. Make sure the gas burners are clean and free of any debris or obstruction.
  4. Check the broiler burner for proper ignition. It should ignite within a few seconds of turning on the broiler. If it does not, the burner orifice may be clogged and will need to be cleaned.
  5. Check the gas pressure to the broiler. If the gas pressure is too low, it can cause the flames to be low or go out.
  6. Make sure the broiler igniter is properly seated and connected.

Viking VGIC oven burners ignite but cycle off repeatedly temperature rarely gets to 300 after 30 minutes. If igniters ignite is problem elsewhere - like bad bi-metal valve? Range and broiler work OK,

There is a sensor that detects the oven temperature, it must be defective and sending a signal that oven is at set temperature and this shuts off the gas valve.

Main oven does not heat at all

Sounds like the heating/starter element went out. This item is very delicate and will break if touched. They are used on almost all newer gas appliances. It takes about 3 minutes to check. Turn the oven on and look down near the burners with all of the lights in the room out. You should see a glow for a while, then it will click off for a while and then come back on. If not, then turn off the oven and get a flashlight and look for the starter element to see if it is broken. It is about one inch wide, two inches long, and 1/4 inch thick. If you do get a glow then this is good news, the element is not broken. However, the element operates a thermostatic switch which operates the gas valve. This switch may be broken. The switch and the starter element usually come out together when removed.

Our Dacor ECS130SBK convection oven no longer heats, after using the broiler and leaving the door open.

The element is probably failed. Using an oven in this manner (turned on with the door open) is not good.

The element is replaceable, and will require some electrical tests to confirm the failure.

MY BROIL ELEMENT WON'T IGNITE ON MY MGS5870ADW MATAG GAS RANGE AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT PART TO ORDER. BACK ELEMENT OR IGNITER IS GLOWING RED.

It could be that the ignitor is weak and only partially heating which could be causing the gas control valve not to open and allowing the gas to flow into the broiler burner tube.

I would also suggest you see if you can smell gas to confirm that the gas supply valve is actually opening up. With the oven door closed, turn on the broiler and after 20-30 seconds of having the ignitor glowing red, turn off the broiler control and open the door and see if you can smell gas, if not it could be either a weak ignitor or a faulty gas control valve.

I would suggest that before you start ordering parts, you swap out the oven ignitor with the broiler ignitor to verify that the broiler ignitor is the problem. It could also be the broiler tube has a blockage of some sort possibly from cooking debris, that is preventing gas from flowing into the tube.

Here's a diagram for your unit along with the parts list.

Oven won't light, we smell gas. Broiler works fine.

I have seen an oven with an electric Broiler element and a lower gas burner but not one with electric top elements and gas below.

SO Im fairly confident your total electric on this appliance. You will have to check the element and if its ok the voltage to the element. If it has a timer the timer could be keeping it off. check the settings on the timer and see if it will click when advanced. Wait a few min then the oven heat up after a few minutes.
