Vizio start blue/yellow flickering screen

I was moving today-my TV was lying down on it's back in the sun for about an hour (87 degrees today). After getting to our new place, I plugged it in & the screen flickers blue, then blue with yellow/white1/2 & 1/2. I can't get to the normal blue screen or any normal picture for that matter. I've unplugged the HDMI/Cable from the TV. Otherwise, it turns on just fine-just seems like the picture is blown?

To add a little: the blue standby screen is scrambled... Large yellow flickering blocks appear, and lots of lines going every which way. I can't see anything-tried switching to diff inputs. They're all the same

Is the HDMI port 2 work? Try to turn it off and turn it back on. If it is still not working then the HDMI ports have gone bad. You will need to replace the main board.

SOURCE: SV470XVT Vizio picture freezes

Hello, This seems more like an interface problem then a board issue. Which interface are you using Component Video, HDMI or , RF(F Connector)? If you are using the RF (F Connector) there might be a problem in the tuner including the RF and IF sections on the circuit board. If you are using HDMI there might be a problem in the HDMI Integrated Circuit If you are using componente video the there might be a problem in the video circuits connected to the RCA jacks of the Component video input. If I were you I would have the take the TV back to the shop and have these items checked out, because board swapping is not the proper thing to do. I hope this helps, Thank you, Shuttle83 http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com

SOURCE: The LCD screen is dark with no sound or picture when turned on.

I had the same problem after having a Vizio for 2 and a half years. I left the room for a minute, i came back and the screen went black. There was still power to the unit and you could see that the back light was working, just no picture, no sound, and you couldn't use any of the buttons. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it. It would then start up, with the Vizio logo going from orange to white, and then do the same thing all over, no pic or sound.

HOW I FIXED MINE:Look through the back vents for a white light to make sure the backlight still works. I ordered a new "main PCB" from tigerdirectparts.com (you can also use searspartsdirect.com). This is the circuit board with all of the inputs on it (hdmi, cable, etc.) I opened it up, disconnected the old one, put in a new one and now it works fine. I used both serial numbers on the board to search for it online. It cost me $144 to do it, but that's better than $450 for a new TV. My tv is the vx32l hdtv10a. I hope that helps.

For me the part number was either (depending on the vendor) : 0171 2272 2174 or it was 3632 0212 0150. Check your circuit and see if any of those numbers match up.

SOURCE: I've owned a Vizio VT420M for just over 13 months.

The flickering is most likely due to a faulty fluorescent backlight. Once the bulb heats up the flickering usually goes away. Some bulbs are easier to replace than others so I would contact your local TV repair shop.

My 70" Vizio smart TV will turn on but there is no picture or sound. I think it blew a fuse.. how do I fix it??

the first thing i would do id completely disconnect power to vizio tv and wait roughly two mins before plugging it back it. once that is done try to see if your picture comes back up . if your screen does not comes back the tv has unfortunately taken a turn for the worst. sometimes it costs more to repair than it does to replace so just make sure that your tv is or is not covered under a manufacturers warranty that may be able to have to tv replace for free depending on the scenario. below is the number and hours of operation. i also gave you a link to their support site. good luck!

Hi Alfred Grace,

First of all, thank you for posting your question here at Fixya.

Based on the symptoms you've described, I don't believe that the backlights are already faulty. If backlights gone to malfunction, that are permanent, but in your case you've said that the TV power up fine for half an hour, this is an indication that the fault not came from the backlights but from the inverter boards. Inverter boards are the one giving high voltage to the backlight to light up, it has a built in protection circuit that will activate once there's a malfunction on the board to avoid further damaged because of high voltage output.
If you would like to fix it yourself, I would advice you to replace both the slave and master inverter board. I saw your board at shopjimmy.com. Click it HERE for the replacement. Replacing these boards are not technical, all you have to do is to unplug the unit overnight to drain any voltages from the power supply board, disconnect all connectors and then put-in the new boards. No soldering required. If just in case that the inverter boards are not the issue (I'm pretty confident that the power supply board is working fine), don't worry, the link I've provided accepted return, the fault is on the power supply board.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Good luck and take care!
