JVC Model. GR- GR-D50AS WHEN SWITCH ON DISPLAY SHOWS ''E06 UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE REMOVE AND REATTACH BATTERY" EVEN AFTER BATTERY REATTACHED THE SAME ERROR SHOWS. PLEASE HELP TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM
SOURCE: 01 error code - unit in safeguard mode
I solved the problem! Open the video cassette door. Look closely at the gear mechanism and see if there is any small debris in the gears. If not, using a magnifying glass and a paper clip(must stretch it out and use the tip) gently move each gear(gently). I had my unit ON. Once I moved the gear it became unstuck and ejected Mini DV cassette. I then re-inserted the cassette and it worked. The dreaded SAFEGAURD MODE message was gone and it is as good as new.

Hi, Regarding the above fault with my JVC camcorder, I have solved the problem by removing the tape and replacing with a new one. Thanks anyway.

I think there is a problem in your database. My message clearly states: JVC GR-DF420E !
Further I was offered free assistance and now I'll have to pay?
On the camcorder problem: It seems to be a well known problem and it costs more to solve this than to buy a new one!
Kind regards

Do a search of this problem and you will ind that every JVC owner is having the same problem. I finally got mine "reset" by powering the unit on in payback mode while holding down the "play" button. Then, turn it back off and power it on in the camera mode while holding down the "rec" button. This seems to have reset it and I've not had anymore issues SO FAR!
Good luck with it.
