How to connect to tv to tv with component cables

In order to connect an AV receiver to a TV using component cables (Red & White) you will need to connect the component cables to an available AUDIO "OUTPUT" on the TV (red to red and white to white). Then the other end of this same cable will be connected to an available AUDIO "INPUT" on the AV receiver. The TV (via the menu or setup button) may have to be set to where the audio signal is output to a home theater and not to the TV speakers. Once connected, the AV receiver should then be set to the Audio input used in order to listen to what the TV is showing on screen.

Everything connected, the screen shows but the

Try connecting the PS3 to your TV through a different port. For example, if you are using HDMI1 on your PS3, try HDMI2 or HDMI3.

Try a different cable. If you have a friend with a working cable try that.

Try a different output on the PS3. For example, if you are currently using the HDMI port, see if the standard composite or component output will work.

While convenient to plug things into an AV reciever, I find that just adds another link in the chain of devices that could go wrong.

Good luck.

Should I be able to use a playstation one with a new Technika LCd tv ? When I use the ''component'' mode it says on the screen that there is ''no signal''

I believe that the playstation 1 uses a standard AV cable with Red/White and Yellow connectors. The video (yel) is a composite video signal not component. If your set has a yellow video input, it should work using that. If not, then connect the yellow to the GREEN connector of the component set and you will see a green picture.

How do I play my games on tv using av cable?

The PSP system (model PSP-2001 and PSP-3001) includes a video-out port which allows users to connect and play the PSP system on an external display or television with AV inputs. It is important to note -- you can

Component AV Cables (model SCPH-98550)
The Component AV Cables connect to the Video Out Port on the bottom of the PSP-2001 or PSP-3001 systems and allow you to output video and audio signal to a television display. The AV Cables support photos, videos (including UMD movies), music, and games. Please note for games to output onto an external display, the display must support progressive scan.

Composite AV Cables (model SCPH-98548)
The AV Cables connect to the Video Out Port on the bottom of the PSP-2001 or PSP-3001 systems and allow you to output video and audio signal toa television display. The AV Cables support photos, videos (includingUMD movies), and music. However, output of games are only supported by PSP-3001.

Av connections not giving signal to tv

you have to manually change the output in the settings menu back to ANALOG Using an HDMI TV or monitor 1st, when you select RCA, or AV output and restart, it will work, but when you switch back, you have to change it (back to HDMI output) on the analog monitor, or use analog TV inputs, then reboot PS3 and connect HDMI.
I do not know why Sony did not make this switch automatic and self scanning on boot, but alas I have had the same issue, so I know this is your problem, not the AV cables.

Please give a fixya rating if you find this solves your problem, Thanks for the question

how are you connected to your tv? if your are connected in HD mode (hdmi cable) you will only get a 16:9 picture... SD mode (AV cable, S VIDEO cable, Component AV cable or SCART) will transmit a picture of 16:9 or 4:3 (4:3 being the old 'square screen' mode)

TV

If you are using cable and the signal is connected to the TV through the regular cable wire, then the TV must be in TV mode to work properly. If you are using a cable box with that TV then the TV must be on channel 3. If the screen shows AV 1, then the TV is in the AV mode (red, white and yellow RCA jacks), and you most likely accidently hit the INPUT button on the remote. Pressing 0 3 or INPUT a couple of times on the remote should bring your picture back.
