My emachine d732z laptop does not start but my laptop (adapter) power supply have power is good

Hi

Remove the battery but leave the ac adapter power cord in if it still doesn't start

you have to eliminate the ac adapter power cord

try a different adapter power cord
if it still dosnt start but you have the orange light on

it could be the laptop power jack is faulty and has to be replaced
laptop power jack

What windows version are you using ?? do you get any error message? We have to check if its a"No Post" or "No Boot" issue.

Has there been any damage? Has the AC jack plug been damaged due to pulling on the cord while plugged in? Have you tried a System Restore/Recovery? Does the Battery charge?

You should ensure that the audio driver is installed and working correctly.

Is there a little speaker icon in the taskbar on the bottom right?

You should also go to the Control Panel and look at the Device Manager. If it shows any errors for your audio device, then you'll need to reinstall the audio driver for your device from eMachine's website. This should be under their Support or Drivers section on their website.

Possibility is that your laptop's adapter's output is no longer capable of supplying enough power to charge the battery & operate the laptop simultaneously. Please try a replacement adapter & check if it resolves your problem.

Another possibility:
There could be a problem with the battery. A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop, remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop & see if it works.
If the laptop works directly from the power adapter with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case we can suspect that the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.

You would need a new battery. Or charge the battery to fullest, then discharge all the way and do that a few times. That might put some life back into it. Laptop batteries tend to looes its charge no matter how much you take good care of it. 10 -20 percent a year. Thats how much they loose their charge by.
