This model does not have a lamp timer.

This indicates problems with the image engine. (Lamp does not control the colour). If the TV has not been cleaned recently, excessive dust build up internally may have overheated the image engine. If Sony will not cover it, you might want to consider a new TV.

The timer can be reset by removing and replacing the bulb.

With the model number either Google "lamp timer reset" or call Sony; note that the lamp timer reset should be in the owner manual and is done with the Sony remote control.

3 blinks is normally lamp door ajar. that tv has 2 lamp switches one for the door and one for the lamp itself. i suggest having a serviceman check out tv.

The power indicator light flashes green 4 times then red 3 times and it won't turn on.....thought it was the buld replaced that and checked to make sure the door at the bulb was closed properly.still no...

Did you clean cooling fans including the ones mounted on the projector unit? When they become full of dust unit will not turn on. Its usually what kills the bulb in the end.

The inverter board is faulty, that is the reason changing the bulb had no effect, the bulbs plug into the inverter board which sends out the signal. Do a google search for sony tv's inverter boards and you should find a replacement, there are plenty of videos on youtube on how to change them.
