I've a problem with my central heating, I've changed my central heating programmer to a drayton lp522. My heating is constantly on. The only way that I am able to turn it of is with the thermostat when I turn it down to 0. I can't turn it of at the programmer. The instructions with the programmer confirmes that I should be able to and I was able to with the previous one. It's driving me up the wall.

This is something that will require a lot of clarification to diagnose.
When dealing with heating controls, you have several systems that work together to operate as one unit.

First off, what type of thermostat are you using, programmable or manual?

Hi you never mentioned which programmer the LP522 replaced, as the LP522 is a 5/2 day programmer.

you may of wired directly to the heating on terminal on the programmer?

It may of been that you had a basic programmer which was only designed for the system you have installed. If i know what existing programmer was used i may be able to help?

Kindly

Richie

Central heating 7 day programmer has no power to it

That may be a 24V Tstat and there would be a little transformer in the boiler that powers the Tstat. Sometimes those burn out.

There is a flow sensor in the circuit and it is not sensing the lower flow from just the hot water. When you put it on heat though it does.

Drayton tempus seven

I have jjust found a manual for this system. The unit has a plastic cover on, which is not that obvious first. After opening the cover there are some buttons ( i.e. Clock). First press clock and re-set correct time. Then just press the relevant button ( i.e 1st on to set the time for having the heating on first thing etc. For each day, afert pressing Day button, the same can be set.

I think the key is to realise that there is a front cover, which hides the buttons. Hope this helped.

Need a manual for drayton tempus 3 heating control

I've ended up with a Drayton Tempus 3 when I bought my house, and I think this is how it works. It allows you to set 2 Timers (I'll call them timer 1 and timer 2) so that you can control Hot Water or Heating On/Off times twice a day. The unit has 6 buttons - 2 for Adjustment, 2 for Hot Water and 2 for Heating. The 2 Adjustment buttons allow you adjust the Clock Time, or allow you to adjust Timer 1 and/or Timer 2. NOTE: Timer 1 is the time refered to on the Heating / Hot Water Select buttons if you press "Once". If you select "Twice" on these the both Timer 1 and Timer 2 are taken into account. For example if you want Hot Water to come on Once between 8pm -10pm, but you want Heating to come on Twice between 6am - 7am, and 8pm -10pm, you have to do the following: Set Timer 1 to 8pm - 10pm, and set Timer 2 to 6am -7pm. Then select Once for Hot Water, and select Twice for Heating. Hope this helps.

The hot water and central heating wont work together

what size of gas line is going into boiler and water heater? is it black iron ? natural gas or propane? have you checked gas pressure at water heater and furnace ? if they work fine individually then you have a problem with incoming gas pressure. Call gas company and ask them if they would come out and check gas pressure.

Wiring a Drayton Room Stat into central heating system

9 TIMES OUT OF 10 THE COLORS ARE THE SAME. MATCH THEM UP. FIRST LABEL THE WIRES ON THE ORIGINAL STAT, AND PUT THEM IN THE CORRESPONDING PLACE ON NEW ONE.
