Hello..i have a sony kp-61v80 tv year 2000

I have a stand by light that flickers 4 times and it wont turn on SONY REAR PROJECTION DRC-MF
timer (red) light flashes 10 times.
sound starts, no picture, turns off.

I'm not sure what model my sony tv is, but its a rear projection tv, and it's probaby a 2000. Red light flickers, and then the lamp light comes on. In the past, it's been under waranty, but it's no longer, and money is tight. Can I fix this problem myself? How?

I have a sony codes for sony TVs that tell what is wrong by the blinks as soon as a can will ck it to see what it says.

Tv wont come on and a red light is blinking. I have a Sony Wide screen projection TV model kp-46wt520

Can you unplug the TV for about 15 seconds, and then plug back in and watch the stand-by light. Tell me how many time the stand-by light blinks in regular intervals. If it doesn't blink at all, you need to change a fuse on the g-board. Once this is done run back through the stand-by blink light process, and more troubleshooting can be done if problem isn't already solved. If the stand-by light just keeps blinking with a count over ten just tell me, and I'll look for other possibilities.

Hi,
4 times flash of standby light shows that TV has problem in Vertical Deflection area and possible causes are IC1509(V out) is broken and / or Q1505(V Pulse Buffer) is broken.
Please check / test above said IF you have experience of TV repair.

if the main board by chance got wet you will need to use a blow drier to try and dry it out..it may already be beyond fixing if water goi into it
