I only get a blue screen saying enter password when i open the computer. I cant use boot at all or open the case. Help me. I only need the password they are using???
After hours of searching I finally found a fix:
1. Remove the battery
2. Remove the HDD
3. Removed the RAM to make the solder points, marker 'J1' on the motherboard visible
4. I then used a paper clip and sticky tape to join these solder points
5. With the solder points joined, insert one stick of RAM and turn the machine on
6. Wait until the laptop is in a post BIOS state (past the screen where you can press F2 for setup and where the logo shows) and remove the paper clip. This has to be removed while the laptop is still on.
7. Turn off computer, press F2 to enter BIOS and you should find there is no password.
Repeat the above steps if you find this doesn't work.
Do this work?
Worked for me
This WORK and will WORK with all password related bios issues as it resets the bios to default

?2. Remove the HDD
?3. Removed the RAM to make the solder points, marked J1 on the motherboard visible
4. I then used a paper clip and sticky tape to join these solder points
?5. With the solder points joined, insert one stick of RAM and turn the machine on

Thanks a lot! I soldered that J1 contacts together, put battery and AC adapter back I push power button several times. CMOS battery no need to disconnect for me. After that , I desolder J1 back (witout AC adapter and battery of course) and start laptop normal. And there is no BIOS password.!!!!
You need to open the case and remove the CMOS battery (Button Cell - usually CR2032).
Leave this out of the machine for 10 minutes so that the BIOS settings are lost. Turn back on and the Computer should have reverted back to Default settings. You will need to reset the Time & Date afterwards.

Here is information on CMOS BIOS passwords. You have to follow instructions closely. Aside from that, there is no other way.

I have a Satellite A135-S2356 that had the same problem. I tried the solution from PCTServices above and it worked great.
"Power unit off. Disconnect AC power. Remove battery. Remove the memory cover screw, memory cover and the memory modules. Peel back mylar from JOPEN1 solder pad. Short JOPEN1 solder pads for 30 seconds. Replace mylar. Replace memory modules. Replace battery. Power up unit. If all is well, replace memory cover and screw."
Just short the two little solder pads and it worked great! I thought I would have to send it back to the manufacture but I am back in buisness. Thanks for the help.

what you need to do is pull both the laptop battery as well as the cmos battery. in some instances, the battery can be pulled, but on other models, i have seen the battery as an actual physical part on the motherboard or somewhere where it is not easily accessible, in which case you need to clear the cmos by using a jumper on the motherboard, since it is a laptop, they are all different. you may need to see if you can locate a copy of the motherboards schematics and go from there.
SOURCE: Keys doesnt work
ok..... firstly check to make sure the "NUM LOCK" is off!!! if no joy get a usb keyboard and restart the pc with keyboard plugged in, hopefully if the usb controllers are enabled in the bios you will be able use the usb keyboard and enter your password, use it until you resolve the issue

Some laptops have switches that you have to turn on manually in order ffor it to work look for a switch usually on bottom of the laptop under or near touchpad
