I had to buy a new in car charger for my navman s30,but when i plug it in to the sat nav & cigerette socket it keeps showing a computer,usb & navman picture.

    my sat nav is charging when in the cigrette socket,but there's a red cross on the sat nav & my maps will not load up when it is plugged in.if i unplug the car charger from the sat nav my maps will load as long as there is enough charge in the battery.

  • Turn the Navman off by holding the power button in the upper left corner of the device until the screen goes blank.
  • Plug the unit into its charger using the USB port on the bottom of the unit. The battery indicator light next to the power switch should turn orange, indicating that the device is charging. Once the light has turned green the charge is complete. If the light does not turn on, verify that the car charger is plugged into a working outlet.

You have to use the Navdesk software on your computer to load maps into Navman gps unit.

Insert a Needle or straightened out Paper Clip in the Side of your Navman S30..It,s on the left Hand Side ( while looking at the Screen) 7 it is covered with a Rubber Plug..There are 2 Holes under this Plug--1 is for an External Aerial & the other is the Reset Hole...

Open your usb cable with a sharp knife; you'll find four different coloured cables inside: leave the red and black cable intact; cut the other two. Close your cable with some tape.
Your navman won't go into usb mode again, but it will charge your device

Software likely corrupted,, Download any updates especially firmware updates at the link above. You will be required to register you device, then you should be able to download and install anything you need.

Navman F10 wont function shows sat nav connecting to computer on screen

Try holding down on/off button till screen clears,switch back on and it should be working normally,this worked on mine,it had picture of laptop ,navman usb cable and a red cross,hope this helps.Cheers.
