Flashing H My camera has a flashing H in the box where the picture number should be. I have tried replacing the battery. I can take the battery out, put it back and I might be able to take one picture. If I try to adjust the picture by zooming in or out, forget it! Instantly goes back to flashing H. Is this hopeless?

I have the same problem. The problem is with the zoom. When you turn your camera on, before shooting a picture, zoom slightly (but do not return to the initiall zoom setting) and shoot your picture. It works. If you need to zoom more, don't worry, any zoom change will alow you to take as many pictures as you want. The camera displays H only if you shoot a picture after turning on your camera, without previously zooming in and out outside the automatic zoom setting.

I received this info from Canon Tech Support - There are two conditions under which a blinking "H" will appear in the LCD panel: (1) when the film has been loaded incorrectly or (2) when the camera's self-test process detects an internal malfunction. If a blinking "H" indication appears, perform the following operations in attempt to resolve the situation: 1. Rewind and remove the film using the rewind button, then remove the battery to clear the memory. 2. Clean the contacts at the base of the battery compartment with a clean pencil eraser to ensure proper contact between the camera and battery. 3. Replace the battery, power the camera back up and operate it as if it had film loaded, pressing the shutter release. If the "H" display stops blinking, the problem is corrected and you can continue using the camera normally. If the blinking does not stop, or if it subsequently returns, the camera should be examined by an authorized Canon service facility. For factory service, please forward your camera to the Factory Service Center shown below. When shipping your camera, please be sure to remove the film (if possible) and batteries. You are not required to send any accessories or manuals when shipping the camera. Be sure to include your name, street address (no P.O. boxes, please), telephone number, and a letter describing the issue with the product. If it has been less than one year since the camera was purchased, we ask that you also include proof of warranty in the form of a copy of your sales receipt. As we do not provide RMA numbers for service, we suggest using a traceable and insurable service (i.e. UPS, Federal Express, Priority Mail) to ship your camera. Please package the camera very securely in a sturdy shipping box to prevent damage during shipment. Please send your camera to the following Factory Service Center: Canon Factory Service 1440 Chase Ave. Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 Telephone: (800) 828-4040 Business Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 midnight ET, and Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. ET (excluding holidays) Upon arrival at the Factory Service Center, your camera will be logged in to our repair database and assigned a repair number. Next, the camera will be examined and you will be advised of the findings. If the required repairs are covered by the warranty, the repairs will begin immediately. When the repairs are complete, the camera will be shipped back to you via Federal Express or UPS. The length of time for the repair will be dependent upon the nature of the repair and availability of parts, if needed. Usually, warranted repairs are completed within approximately ten to fourteen business days of the camera's arrival at the Factory Service Center. Please be assured that your camera will be returned as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter. All decisions regarding warranty coverage are made by the Factory Service Center at the time of repair. If the repair entails something that is not covered in warranty, or if the camera is out of warranty, a written estimate will be sent to you at the address that you have provided. The repairs to your camera will not begin until you approve this estimate and make payment arrangements. If, after receiving the estimate, you do not wish to have the camera repaired, please inform the Factory Service Center of your decision as soon as possible. If you decline the estimate, the camera will be shipped back to you un-repaired. Once you have confirmed with your shipper that the camera has been delivered, you are more than welcome to contact us for repair updates. Please include your name, address, and telephone number, as well as the serial number of the camera, in all repair status inquiries. If you prefer to contact us by phone, please see the above contact information. Please note that our U.S. Factory Service Centers are unable to accept packages from or return equipment to addresses outside the United States. We hope this information is helpful to you. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance with your Sure Shot Z155.

Orange light flashes on when turn on Olympus c-50 zoom camera and orange and green lights in upper left corner blink when try to take pictures. Won't take any pictures

The flashing Orange light means the charge is flashing.
The flashing Green light means the focus and exposure are not correct.

Have you recently replaced the batteries? Or are you using rechargeable batteries? Lack of enough "Juice" could allow for the flash to not charge up (Orange) therefore not allowing the camera to get the correct exposure (Green). I would try new fresh batteries or a new battery pack. If that doesn't fix the issue it must be a bad circuitry in the body that is shorting not letting the flash charge.

Jacob

Flashing "Err" message with a code 999. Can't shoot pictures.

Try resetting the camera.

First a soft reset is to just replace the battery. If that doesn't work try a hard reset - on the bottom the other side to the battery flap.

Pictures taking too long, and a lightning bolt symbol appears

Hi, Could you please tell us what camera model this is?
I believe you replaced with new fully charged batteries.
Try changing the memory card. Old defective memory card will delay between shots.
If it still doesnt work, try updating the firmware of the camera.
Hope it helps...

A red image pops up when I take a pic

I chose the DMC-TZ3A since I didn't know what the letter was at the end of the model number for your particular camera. If this is the camera

Here is a link to the manual

If not

Here is link to the Lumix series cameras

Pg 25 indicates that flashing red in the upper right corner is the battery needing to be recharged. If the battery was recently recharge and its turning red on the screen, it could be that the battery isn't holding a charge and may need to be replaced.

I didn't see any other error messages on the screen indicating that icon unless b,c, or d models have a different error message in that area of the screen.
