I have a Montgomery Ward model 1934 sewing machine. The reverse button has no tension and the machine is stuck in reverse stitch mode. Can this be repaired?

You may want to take it for service. Could be the machine has seized with the reverse button stuck. May need to be disassembled.

Necchi 535FA is stuck in reverse, no matter what adjustments I change. I oiled and cleaned it and properly threaded it. Everything seems to work and move fine, except the reverse button was stuck.

A part of the Reverse Button mechanism is probably frozen.

This may work:
Direct heated air from a handheld hairdryer into the internal mechanism and let the metal parts get pretty hot. (Don't burn your fingers!) Then try the reverse button to see if it has loosened. Repeat and hopefully it will begin working. If you figure out where the reverse button mechanism is located, you can try lubricating the metal joints--ONLY 1-2 drops of GOOD quality sewing machine oil (do NOT use 3-in-1, WD-40, cooking oil, or OLD sewing machine oil). Then try the hairdryer again. Do NOT oil plastic parts or belts unless directed to in the owner's manual instructions.

Vintage Sewing Machines

To keep your machine sewing well, be sure to clean and oil on a regular basis--about every 8-12 hours of continuous sewing, every time you empty a bobbin, or if it's not in frequent use, every six months. Oil drying out is a frequent cause of machine moving parts freezing.

I have a necchi 3205f royal series how do I use the reverse button?

The reverse button may be used to complete a buttonhole, or to finish a row by moving back and forward. Try it out on an old piece of cloth first.

Looking for the reverse button on a necchi bu nova

There is no reverse button, it is a lever. The stitch length lever also reverses the feed dogs - when down, it runs forward - at zero, it does not feed at all and when moved up, it reverses the machine. Set your stitch length by loosening the thumbscrew on the vertically moving lever and sliding the plate into position while moving the lever up to the desired mark. Tighten the screw and move the lever down to sew - to reverse just move the lever up until it hits the stop to sew the same stitch length in reverse.

I can't find reverse on my necchi 536fb. I inhereted the machine it's pretty old but works great. Sewing would be much easier if i had a forward/reverse button. Thx

See that button/knob at the lower right hand-side of the front? The center is a button you depress and hold to reverse. Good luck!

NECCHI, model 4795. Thread bunches up at bobbin.

it sounds like the thred tenshion is to loos or the timing has sliped a little and its off a bit this can also happen with wear on the gears or just a loos fixing letting the timing slip back a bit,
