Hi!

If you are using an SD or MMC card, check if the lock button (on the side of the card - a tiny plastic that you can slide) is on the LOCK position. Slide it to UNLOCK position. If it's already in UNLOCK position, slide it to LOCK , then UNLOCK position.

Good luck and have a nice day!

Just returned from vacation..47 photos will not download to computer. Camera says file is empty, but sometimes I can see a few of them!

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Youcan copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off yourmemory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing anyprograms.

I have a memory card a 2GB one and i cant format it because it is write-protected. i dont use any adapter, just a card reader. can you help me how to remove the write-protect?

this is generally a slid on the side of the card so that you can protect the data in case you are on vacation and go to grab another card and shoot photos over it and didn't know it was not the blank one. check the sides of the card for a little moveable item.

Can't help with the camera- sounds like it has a fault.

The photos, however, should be recoverable by putting the memory card into a card reader on a computer.

I have a canon powershot sx200 IS and I recently went on vacation and took a lot of pictures using teh SD memory card provided with the camera. For some reason, after almost filling the card I received a...

The likely reason this keeps happening is that these cards weren't formatted in the camera when you first got them. However, don't do so just yet as formatting also erases the card. If you are using a memory card, take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that are available to help you recover your photos. This blog article reviews and outlines several of the better ones. Now AFTER you've recovered the photos, format the cards IN THE CAMERA USING THE CAMERAS FORMAT FEATURE. Look for it, it's located under the "tools" menu (look for the item stating the card's memory capacity). This should rejuvenate both cards, and prevent reoccurrence.

Hi,
Is the card locked? A small switch on the card in the lock position? If that isn't the case you may want to consider having a professional recover these photos. Once I have more information I can assist you further.
Thank you,

How to download photos to computer

Have you tried using a card reader by removing the SD card/memory card from your digicam and inserting it in a card reader. It is much faster copying your pictures to your computer than transferring by installing/connecting the digicam to the computer. I hope this helps.

no solution yet....Kodak said to find out from WalMart why it's locked....haven't had time. Thanks for your inquiry.  I probably just have to get the prints made at WalMart and not anywhere else on line.

Memory card blocked

There is a lock on SD cards. It usually is a white switch on the left side of the card. Turn the switch in the opposite direction and try it.
