I had this same problem and called a local repair company. They sent a tech out for a service fee and and hourly rate. This guy could not get one part off under the bottom sprayer to see if anything was clogged and wanted to put a new motor on it. I had him stop and I was left with a dw apart and a bill for $110. About 4 months after he left I decided to try the same and also could not remove the nut above the large plastic nut to see if anything was clogging the unit. Once I could not get this off I decided to try blowing out the line from the drain pipe back to the unit. I did not have a compressor so I used my shop vac and forced air back into the unit from the plastic drain hose. I had a variety of foreign objects come into the cabinet from under the screen unit. This seemed to solve the drain problem. Good luck.
Check your drain line for possible obstructions. If you have a disposal make sure it is clear and water will drain properly down the sink. If your drain line is clear and disposal is clear, start the dishwasher and listen for the motor to begin the pump out. If you hear the motor humming or trying to pump then you will need a new pump and motor assembly. If you hear no noise then you may have a loss of power to the pump from the timer or the door switch. The pump and motor part number is.

Two things to consider....clean water or
dirty water?
Clean water usually indicates the fill valve
is not shutting off all the way and the fill valve is "weeping" water
in all the time = new fill valve time!!
Dirty water usually is not a dishwasher
problem but more of a plumbing issue. Often the sink drain that carries the
sinks water outside is not fast enough and some of this sink water is backing
up into the drain hose and filling up the dishwasher through the drain hose.
The drain from the sink to outside needs attention as this type of a problem
indicates a slow house drain for that sink.
The dishwasher drain line should be clamped to the top underneath part of the counter before entering the sink drain plumbing, this may help the water from coming back inside the dishwasher.

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump.
Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.
