Hi, I have a problem with my Acer Aspire 5732Z laptop. Upon boot up, I get a blue screen saying there is an error with my computer, and the following file name appears: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Not...

It seems you have an IRQ conflict. You install a driver and it wants to use an IRQ which is already assigned to a different device. That's why you can start in safe mode because the drivers for your added devices are not loaded.

The computing phrase "interrupt request" (or IRQ) is used to refer to either the act of interrupting the bus lines used to signal an interrupt, or the interrupt input lines on a Programmable Interrupt Controller (PIC). The interrupt request level (IRQL) is the priority of an interrupt request.

In computing, an IRQ conflict is a once common hardware error, received when two devices were trying to use the same interrupt request (or IRQ) to signal an interrupt to the Programmable Interrupt Controller (PIC).

The PIC expects interrupt requests from only one device per line, thus more than one device sending IRQ signals along the same line will generally cause an IRQ conflict that can freeze a computer.

To view your current IRQ assignments you can open Device Manager. Click on START, click on CONTROL PANEL. Click on Performance and Maintenance. Click on System. Click on the Hardware tab. Click the DEVICE MANAGER button. Once you have Device Manager open, select VIEW from the tool-bar menu, and then click Resources by Type. Double click on Interrupt Request (IRQ). If you are experiencing problems with a newly installed/configured piece of hardware and the drivers are installed correctly, then check to see if it has its own IRQ channel.

To change an IRQ setting follow these steps:
-Right click on the device in the list (see above), and then select properties.
-Click the Resources tab.
-Remove the tick from the Use automatic settings option.
-Select a non-conflicting configuration from the pull down box.
-Click OK.

My Bosch double oven timer is not working. No clock, notimer, but the oven is working fine.

Sure this is the failure off the unit but make sure that the step down transformer for the power to the unit is faulty or burnt. If so replace the transformer. If power goes tto unit without display then the processor can be faulty . Change the clock timer. unit if you need the timings.

Its disapeared , i usually talk on camera. but when i turned on laptop its just disapeared. i ticked a button on skype last night asking me to update it.

Please uninstall it and reinstall the skype program, this will definitely fix your problem. The problem must be with the update, perhaps incomplete updates or interrupted updates.. Good luck Thanks for using FixYa.

My daughter has this message on her Dell computer: no timer tick message interrupt, does that mean she needs a new mother board? or is it fixable? thanks

More often this also means that the CMOS battery is drained (the coin shaped cell on the motherboard). Try replacing the coin-cell before considering a motherboard replacement. Also, after replacing the coin-cell, you have to reset the BIOS to its defaults (if it doesn't automatically do it).
